I know I don't comment in this club very often, but again; you have nominated me for yet a 3rd membership #.
I am proudly #123 in your original listing.
However, I will accept "honorary" club membership numbers and listings as often as you see fit...LOL..
Maybe it's because we share an affinity for raptors? I have saved 2 adolecent hawks in last 2 years; nurtured and released from rescue sanctuary , near Atlanta.

I'm not too sure how those two factors correlate - but if I had my druthers and knew then what I know now - AND if I had a choice, I'd keep the bass and amp and let loose of the girl.

A friend bought a 450 combo, which he loves. He sometimes needs "more" for certain shows and wants to buy an extention cabinet. He is asking me for opinions..I AM ASKING Y'ALL...

I have the B-450 with it's B-600H amp - not that I'm special since they all have the 600 Watt head in them.

I started out with a B-115 under it and it was really nice. Two 10" drivers and a single 15-incher are a pretty
good match - much better than putting a B-410 under it although I've done both.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a B-600H and two B-410s.
Even though your friend said no, the B-810 is serious with a B-600H. I know since I also have that
running too.
But - I think if he really wants to look and sound great, add the B-210N under the B-450 since they both
match in size and are an absolute match electronically and driver count/size at the same time.

Hmm! I just noticed that Acoustic added a 15" Neo cab now too. Interesting!
Be forewarned though: There are a lot of snobs here with ring-shaped stains around their neck caused by their anal outlook concerning Acoustic gear.
I think the Tolex is rather light weight especially if you let someone just toss them into a trailer or back of
the band truck, but the sound is good and Olde School-y, which is just what I like.
And the reliability factor is very high - I've been pushing mine pretty hard in outdoor BBQ and parties at
high volume and in the direct sun - and so far the only trouble I've had is a speaker wire connex got
flaky and I fixed it myself.
Right now I'm after a B-200H that I found down the street from me to go on top of my 2x B-115s.

Hmm! I just noticed that Acoustic added a 15" Neo cab now too. Interesting!

Great Suggestions. I mentioned the 8x10, but he said no. Maybe an overall weight issue? They move and set-up their own equipment.

Can i join? Just picked up a model 450 head and an old acoustic 610 cab (i believe its the 408 cab?) for $190 this past weekend! I had to try the thing when i saw that the head and cab together were under 200 bucks, and boy was i happy when i heard how the thing sounded. Havent had much time too play with it, but so far im loving how dirty this thing sounds. Its hard to get a clean, polite tone from the thing, and i really like that quality in an amp . Ive gotten several cool sounds with messing around with the distortion knob at different eq settings. She's my new bedroom amp. Thank god my landlord who lives downstairs plays in a metal band that practices in the basement.

Maybe a 410 would go well with that amp? If its aleady got two tens, then you can bring the 410 with to bigger gigs making a 610, or just bring the combo to smaller stuff. What he should really do is bring his amp with his bass and his pedals if he has any to a gc and try out all the extension cabs with his set up. Thats really the best way ive found to make decisions like this. Its gonna sound different in the gc showroom, but its gonna sound a lot different if he doesnt try it out with his own rig. Gc has never had a problem with me bringing my svt/810 rig in to a/b different heads and basses. And gc also has that neat return policy so if he gets somethin and gigs with it a couple times and doesnt like it, he can always bring it back and try somethin different. That might be the only thing i like about gc haha

I've got that B-450 + B-410 as a possible setup too - but the 410 won't work as hard as the 210s will, and they will get stressed.
Been there - done it.

The B-410 under the B-450 is pretty good, but the 210s will definitely go into stress first. I'd REALLY look for a B-210Neo.
They SHOULD have a full supply of their own store's brand name - nothing wrong with that.
If he puts the Pro Coverage on it - the gear is even protected from running it over, dropping it onto the Pasadena Freeway at 55 MPH or falling space junk.
BTW: the Pro Coverage is a little grease in the wallet for the salesman too - but it makes a nicer situation if you also think about it covering the gear for ANY failure, not just electrical.

I'd like to offer my comments on the 450 and the pro coverage.
My 450 started rattling whenever I hit I think it was Eb through Gb on my fiver's B string. I did check the speakers' conections and they looked Ok. The rattle appeared to be coming from the head. So, since I wanted to try the Ampeg PF350 I ended up getting rid of my B450. It was a nice sounding combo.
The Pro coverage will cover shipping, but not packing materials, and the thing weighs, what, like 70 lbs? So you really want to make sure it is properly packed since GC. will try to repair and return to you rather than giving you a new one. Unless you can talk to your friendly local GC manager into exchanging it for you at the store.
If, I were going to do it again, I'd also get the B600H head separate and then either put 2 4x10s or 2 1x15s under it. I dont play loud; I prefer 15s. It's nice to have the option to take only one cab if needed, or leave one at your practice space, church, etc and just carry the head.
I'd also get the casters for the bottom cab; easier to move and adjust position.

I too had the rattle - but only for a short time. Not talking about the crappy spade connectors, which I replaced with automotive versions and never had any more troubles.
It was the amp section that had a low frequency rattle that got my attention one day.
I think it's a problem with many combos where the amp shakes at the low frequencies and just makes a rattling noise. All I did was jam some closed cell foam in between the lowest part of the amp and the cab and it was solved.
Yeah - it shouldn't have happened - but I can live with it as I like the amp and it's really powerful and nicely voiced.

He's quite satisfied with his choice.
I recall he had some issue shortly after he bought his B450. He returned it to our GC in Fayetteville, Ga. They replaced it at no charge / no questions with a fresh-off-the-truck-new-in-the-box B-450 and called it good. This unit has remained issue-free and serves him well.
