Very Pretty Indeed! Great to hear you having a blast with it.
I'm looking forward to sending in pics as well when the time comes but I'm a Layaway King at this point. Good things come in time, patience is a virture and all that. Hell, I even added a used Old School original, generation 3, Acoustic 126 to the mix! The thing sat there in the used section at GC for at least three weeks, still at the "right price", even less than one of my new B200H heads, I saw it there still last Sunday, fired her up and BAM, she's still Way Happening! Accordingly to them apparently "Nobody really knew what it was". :eek: Well, really? What can I say?. :D Somethings are just meant to be I guess.:D:D

Oh trust me, I can handle it (even if I have to wet my pants).
It's good to know because I've already got three cabs (2 115's and a 410) and since this works, I can just get the fourth and hook em up to the B600H, which I plan on getting. My B200 combo is mighty lonesome as it replaced the need for any of my other amps. :p

While you go huge, I'm going to go compact: I plan to get the B600H and use it to power my 4-ohm Schroeder 1212R along with a 4-ohm Schroeder 1-15 that I've got coming from Jorg in a few weeks.

Even now using the B200H, the 1212 (which handles 1000 watts) is so loud it's ridiculous. I've been running a Tech 21 Sansamp VT Bass pedal through the rig, and the sound is just awesome -- can't wait to double the speakers and triple the wattage!

If you haven't heard the VT Bass, I highly recommend you demo it -- it may work out to be an "always on" for me.

Hey, glad to see that your planning for the B600 as well. :bassist:

Also, one of my pals has a VT pedal and was just telling me to try it out last week. I will definately be heading over to his place (maybe tomorrow) and if I'm lucky I may be able to strike a deal of some sort with him. :D I'll let you know what I think.

My preferred setting is the one called "Fat Tube." Flatten out your amp EQ, let the box do its thing, then season to taste.

Alright, I'm definately going to my buds place tomorrow along with some other chums for a jam session. I will try the box out with various styles as none of us can settle on a genre (Rush-Yes-SRV-Jack Johnson-Raconteurs-Pavement-Steely Dan-Presidents-etc....) so I hope I can push out some mondo-sweet tones. :)

Ok, I just got back to my computer after a truely heart-wrenching visit to my buds place. I could barely walk away from that VT pedal. It was truely wonderful. It's sort of like the regular DI bass driver I own, but has allot more control over the mids, which is just what I am looking for. It even has a lot more drive! I used it with a Geddy Jazz and the B200 combo and was able to get some great sounds. They were really rich and creamy, sort of tube-esc.
Anyways, I couldn't get my pal to give it up to me (not once he heard me play with it hooked up to my little rig) but I was able to sell him on the B200! I will try to get one of these asap and add it to my permanent compliment. Thanks a bundle, Lowbrow. :bassist:
(Ps: Sorry if I weirded anyone out by using the term "mondo" earlier. Haha.) :smug:

Yeah, that "challenge" thread is a great read, and after playing through the VT I can say that I prefer it to a tube amp. As some said in that thread, it has a more hi-fi sound wiht more control and definition to the higher-end. It sounded great through my B200 combo, but through a B200H + 410 I can honestly say that my tone has never been able to get so crunchy and...almost metallic without loosing it's growling low-end. I must have one of these pedals. I've got GAS hardcore. :D

Can this be used as a substitute for the SABDI? meaning does it have an XLR out?

I tried out an Acoustic B200 combo amp yesterday at GC and was very impressed! I was planning on saving up for a nice Carvin combo ($600 with shipping) but I'm seriously thinking this B200 might be all I need!

A question for you, though. The amp part of the B200 is the same as the B200H head, right? It puts out 200w into 4 ohms. The speaker in the combo is a 4 ohm 15", so I'd be getting all 200w, right? It still has an external speaker out, though...

What would happen if I plugged in one of their 15" extension cabs? The minimum load is 4 ohms and the combo's internal speaker is 4 ohms. Could I plug in another speaker or not?

So, then would adding an 8 ohm cab to an already 4 ohm load would make it a combined 6 ohm load?

Would adding an external speaker cab improve the sound or would it be a wash?

The manual actually states that the external speaker jack is a "two-conductor, 1/4" speaker output jack" and says "4 ohm minimum load, parallel."

An 8 ohm load and a 4 ohm load in series would be a combined 12 ohm load, IIRC.

Most jack pairs on external cabs are parallel jacks. The Acoustic cabs are no different.

The B200H has two external speaker jacks designed to run in parallel into 2 8 ohm cabs for a total impedance of 4 ohms. Each cab also has two jacks wired in parallel.

The manual (on page 8) is actually incorrect on that point. The B200 combo external speaker jack is in series with the internal speaker. The reason being that the minimum output load for the amp is 4 ohms. The internal speaker is already at 4 ohms, so a parallel ext spkr out would drop the total output load below that, damaging the amp. If you look at the diagram on page 11 of the manual it shows the external jack wired in series.

How would connecting one of their 8 ohm 410 cabs affect the overall output and sound?
