This might be old news but I just stumbled onto it. These guys build speakers using the original Altec designs.

I think you (read we) may have a TB-induced g.a.s. problem.Yes. The 16 5 I was working on for a long time, the G120 I payed two weeks ago. Yesterdday picked them up. Tomorrow the 220 and 402. My bank account is bleeding, hopefully no 370s or 320s popping up, I need recovery time![]()
GC sells a set of Ernie Ball replacement wheels that can drop right into existing sockets or you can replace those also. They were $40-60 I forget how much.Just the nicest piece of Acoustic gear.

My 402 came used from GC fitted with EV Force 15's. Apparently in that same process it went from Acoustic's nifty floating strategy to being bolted in.

Fully tested at home it sounds great and I can fully understand how this could become a desert island fave. I have yet to gig it so I'm not quite fulfilled, but big cab gigs are 1-3 times a year lately. Might take a while.![]()
