That's true if the speakers are connected in parallel. If the speakers are in series the resistance would add. 8+4=12. Although I'm not sure why you would want to series two cabinets.

You're goofed up. The speaker out is in SERIES. Two impedances in series add up. Two impedances in PARALLEL is what you're thinking.

I was unfamiliar with the Acoustic stuff (other than I had heard about the early stuff). So I went down to GC looking for a nice 15" cab. So I tried (and purchased) the B115 cab today. But what really blew my mind was the tone from one of their B200 combo amps. Un-Freakin'-Real! These B-series heads are the complete and utter real deal. I've never heard such a monstrous tone! Dare I say it was Ampeg-ish in nature? I'm completely SOLD on the Acoustic stuff. I'm getting a B600H just as fast as humanly possible and another B115. Being 40 yrs old and having played a lot of different brands, I usually don't have too many OMG moments left when it comes to new gear, but WOW! LOL! It takes something mighty impressive to make me want to overhaul my whole rig setup. Anyone who hasn't tried this stuff out yet - do it! 
I'll join... Just picked up a B600H and a B115 Cabinet. I had the B200H for saturday nights gig and it held it's own pretty well in our group. Was disappointed to find out it's only 120/140 watts or so into 8ohms, so opted for the bigger one.
My old Acoustic guitar amp from the 70's is still Rock n and a Roll n. So much for a lifetime warranty though huh?
I hope the quality of this new amp holds up as well or at least Guitar Center will stand behind it's 3 yr warranty.
So far only a few minor complaints. #1 why no 4ohm 115 cab.
#2 why no 2-10 cab.... a 2-10 and a 115 would be sweat with either head. And #3 why the heck would anyone make an amp head you can't set your beer on. Those air vents on the top are only asking for trouble.

Perhaps you can direct me to a post I can't now find. It dealt with someone saying using the B115 cab alone with the B600H head would be ok. It's my belief it is as long as I watch out not over driving it.

I was the first one in ATL area to get it (B200). I took it home in cardbox not even trying it. (I know guy in GC and I can return it in 30 days...).
I am 50 and still love it from the day 1 I have heard it.
Big and Bulky and looks like an old 70s Teac Stereo System.
I hope they put it in a tolex case and change those huge knobs.

Thanks for the number! I finally feel a little more "vested" in the club since picking up the B600H earlier this afternoon. Loving it! LOUD & sweet tones abound. Can't wait to gig with it. Volume-wise, I find it to be suitable (and then some) for most indoor gigs with just the B115 by itself. Can't wait to try the B115 with my homebrew 210 on top or Schroeder 21012L. Lots of bass-goodness experimentation lay ahead for me!
P.S. - The towel is to keep my cat from walking all over it - LOL. You know it's good when cats dig it too!

And still, months later, I cannot recommend enough the B200H head. Mine performed more than admirably last night during the first rehearsal of my new band Burgess Penguin. Good lord, my fretless was sounding like a panther through that thing!

No issues with mine so far except for finding the horns in the B115s suck and need to be turned off when I use it with a distortion pedal..
These arent the 'reissues' though if you were explicitly talking about the upcoming american made Acoustics..
Hey Stingray Id watch cranking that head with just the B115 hooked up to it.
I think with the head running at 8ohms your putting out just about enough power to overpower the speaker and blow it.. Theyre only rated to about 250w by themselves.
I thought I read a post from Stacknobuser before saying it puts out about 250w or something at 8ohms.. (I think that post might be in this thread somewhere or other)

Point noted - I was aware of the headroom/extra wattage at the time of purchase. A little common sense/judicious use of the volume knob should keep the speaker in tact when running by itself or until I decide if I want to go with another B115, or use another cab I already own in conjunction with it.
