The 230 head was designed for guitar, but it sounds great for bass as well. I don't have the original footswitch, so I built a little switch box that sticks to the back of the amp with velcro so I can turn the graphic EQ, master volume and reverb on and off. For bass I only use the graphic EQ.

After I bought the head I went looking for a 2x15 cab, and the one I found also came with a matching 150b head. I thought it would be a shame to break them up after 30+ years. It needs a new power cord, so for now it's just decorative. But isn't it pretty?

I also have a B20 at home.

Hi Acoustic fans!

I´m new a this forum and I want to ask you about buying an old (vintage xD) Acoustic combo. It was manufactured between 1979 and 1980 and is in perfect conditions (everything original), is the 118 model.

I´m still learning how to play but I need a bigger combo for practicing at home (I have a crappy 20w) and a friend is offering me this one, what do you think about it?

That looks like a Model 122. That is a really great combo if working correctly. I have one with an EV Force 15 speaker and it is great.

They have a 404 extension speaker for it. Then you have a 2x15. But that is hard to find and requires a tech change.

If I needed a combo, and if the condition was really clean. I would max at $300 USD.

But always remember that the value of a collectable is what it is worth to you.

oopsy - you said a 118. Not sure the difference from the 122. The box looks about the same. The 122 is almost 27" wide and has the 100 - 120 wat head.

Imports were different. Make sure it is a 15 and also the 100 watt supply

I need a little help here. I just acquired an original power amp from an Acoustic 361. It was paired with a Furman PQ3, and all mounted in a milk crate if you can believe that. It appears to work properly and it sounds great, but this is not really the set up I am looking for. So my question is does this power amp have any value? Is it something that someone would use to to refurb an old cabinet? What should I try to sell it for? Any help would be appreciated.

They say that they don't have an active phone number although I Googled one and called and it was answered as "Acoustic Amplification, How can I direct your call"? and then I got put on terminal shut up, never to hear a human voice or even any elevator music again.

I sent an e-mail and got the royal shuffle and they are all smiles behind the words but you just know they are treating you like that crazy aunt you hide in the attic when company comes.

They don't seem to care at all about anything and since I bet now that they sold the units to me - a B-450, B-110 & B-410, they don't care any more. They made the sale and I am out of the loop.

Don't get me wrong - the 450 amp is great and the 110/410 sides are powerful and with that one little exception of the bad spade lugs on the speaker connex in the B-450, there are no other problems at all. They are powerful and well worth the money - but their PR department generally sux and doesn't give a damned.

I have had troubles with other Korean companies in the past - Samsung was the worst - but Acoustic is running a strong second right about now.

In all of this stuff, GC was great and they took all my copies of the e-mails I sent and copies of Acoustic's answers and said they will send it up to their corporate. GC has bent over backwards to help me with this and as I see it it is no fault of GC for anything.

Since I documented everything, I don't have any worry about a warranty if ultimately I need to invoke one.

Sorry to take so long to replay. I've been a little under the weather with sinus problems.

This is a 118. I have one and for me it's a little too small for big gigs and a little to big for small gig - if that makes sense. I wish it was either more powerful or smaller physically. But it does sound good and even works nice with Acoustic bass. I got mine for a reasonable price but I would think if this one is under $200 you'd have a good deal on your hands.

GC owns the Acoustic label and is kinda-sorta their house brand, in spite of Acoustic being sold by some GC competitors - Musician's Friend carries them, for example. Acoustic Control Corp ('our' Acoustic) should not be confused with Acoustic Image, BTW. The amps I've seen, including my personal B20, are built in China.
