For me, Zep lost it with Presence....

The only thing I remember about that ultimately forgettable album was the appropriateness of the name. I popped it into my 8 track player and it was so upper midrangey I couldn't stand to listen to it.

I watched the Doors break up in real time on stage in New Orleans. I think that qualifies as their worst moment.

Deep Purple / Come Taste the Band.
Tommy Bolin was a great guitarist, but just didnt fit in Purple.
Nobody replaces Blackmore... Not even Steve Morse (in my mind anyway)

Actually, he did. Randy played bass on "After the Fall", from Frontiers.

Metallica after Burton sucks. Metallica after Newsted made another low point. They can't go any lower if Trujillo leaves. Don't get me wrong, Trujillo is a good bassist but he's wasting his talent in Metallica.

Iron Maiden after Powerslave has sucked pretty hard, especially Blaze albums. I like their early albums, they were more like rock.

I agree completely. I could swallow both bands (even though I really don't like metal) pretty well up until the mentioned points. Metallica is just way too loud and NOISY for me. With Cliff, in those years, you had stuff that was metal, but was still melodic, rock-esque, still had substance other than volume and agressiveness. Most of Metallica's modern stuff is just not tolerable for me.

Iron Maiden with stuff like Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Two Minutes to Midnight, etc. was very good. I like that stuff a lot. Very nice bass in that too.

well i obviously dont share musical tastes with a lot of people here but for a few bands i like

Green Day-pretty much everything after 1996 that led to a nation of whiny emo 12 year olds idolizing them Dookie was awesome musically now its just standard root note rock...

Offspring-everything after 1999 minus maybe 3 songs has just been meh at best.

For me, Zep lost it with Presence....

Presence had Achilles Last Stand, Tea for One, and Nobody's fault but Mine..The rest of the songs are pretty rifftastic too! Presence rocked!!

But some one mentioned "Coda"...Those were B-Sides I believe but yea--- bad..and "In Through the Out Door" didnt even sound like Led Zeppelin besides Plants voice

The Who after Moon passed.

It was never the same, but Face Dances is actually a very good album, so I wouldn't condemn the entire post-Moon period. It's Hard, however, is another story, and gets my vote as The Who's lowest of lows. The show I saw on that tour was pretty lame too.

U2: All You Can't Leave Behind. What a dismal, schmaltzy record from one of my faves.

Metallica: Load. Aptly named.

This album gets heavy criticism, which is deserved for most of the first half. IMO, from about "Gone" to conclusion, it contains some of their best, most interesting work.

While I can agree that Zep from Presence and beyond was not up to top form. However, Zep at their very worst is still better than 99% of every other band out there. Debating bands like Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Stones is like debating soda or aspirin: whether you like/appreciate it or not, the it resonates throughout the whole human race.

Deep Purple...nothing they have put out post Ritchie Blackmore is memorable to me.
