"You Better You Bet" is an awesome song.
I don't know anything but "All Along the Watchtower", "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", and "Tangled Up in Blue" in regards to Dylan, so I wouldn't know.
And holy crap, did Cash and Willie Nelson REALLY do that!!!?
Yeah, I forgive them, but it was still cringe-inducing. Plus, Willie was having all that tax trouble and Cash hadn't been unearthed by Rick Rubin.
Personally, I think The Final Cut is a great dissapointment for Pink Floyd.
I love pretty much everything else they did (That includes the later stuff, Atom Heart Mother and More... I think those albums are great), but I just don't really like The Final Cut at all, although "Not Now John" is great. The rest of it is just a bit depressing.

A lot of people say Topographic Oceans was atricious, but it's one of my favorite Yes albums. I pretty much stopped following the band closely after Tormato, but I think there are still many nice tunes on all the albums that came out afterward.

One nice thing about streaming music services (rhapsody, napster) is I can preview an album to see if the artist finally lost it was was either smoking too much (or not enough) crack before deciding to purchase it.
While not that big a band, Tortoise's last album was junk.
Sometimes if I get an album that I really, really, really love I'm scared to get another by the artist out of fear they won't be anywhere near as good. (I have the same problem with ordering different dishes when I go out to eat)

Some would say Saint Anger was one of Metallica's worst moments but I enjoy it. I can listen to and accept it for what it is in the larger context of Metallica and the circumstances in which it was written.
blech. there hasnt been a straight metal band to impress me in a REALLY long time. there are only a handful of thrash bands worth listening to anymore. and if theres not some sort of hardcore influence in it (ala killswitch engage) then i cant be bothered.
seriously, who are the current kings of straight up metal right now? the likes of Lamb of God? Trivium? etc? yuck. id rather listen to björks greatest hits than that nonsense.
and ive gotta say that gabe from midtown going on to make cobra starship after the band's demise was particularly heartbreaking. he helped make one of the most inspired punk albums ive ever heard, and then when they still werent making it, he went and made goofy hip hop for white people. uck.
Disturbed's lowest time: now. Come on 3 consecutive albums that sound the same (10,000 fists, Indestructible, Asylum). 10k fists was O.K but the songs feel, to me, empty. Indestructible is a great album but sounds pretty much exactly like 10k fists.

Yep, gotta' agree 100%. Although I'm not THE biggest fan of thrash, I must say that Megadeth is really the only GREAT band in the thrash scene right now. Endgame was just pure awesomeness. There are many meh-bands like the ones you mentioned, Lamb of God, Trivium, and even more bands claiming to be thrash when they really are as far away from thrash as they can.

Aye. They should've let that one rot in peace (though I like the title). Just a waste of studio time; not that they needed to care. The other one of theirs I have a hard time with is "If I Fell", which features the sloppiest intro, soppiest lyric and gloppiest harmonies the moptops ever released. It must have been an early effort Lennon and McCartney dug up for "A Hard Day's Night". George Martin ought to have put his foot down right there.
