Yeah. The two pickup models have 4 bands of EQ - Low (40Hz), Low Mid (400Hz), Hi Mid (2.5kHz), Highs (6.3khz). The single pickup only have 3 bands, Low, Mid and Highs. I think it's 10 or 15db of boost or cut on each, too. I know a little goes a really long way... my knobs are rarely turned much at all... I think the most drastic I've recently done was a 1/4 turn.

Alway wanted a 6-string 34" scale. What is string spacing on these? 17.5mm 18mm 19mm?
Are they to tight, or good for finger-style ?

Goodness, yes. The Bongo 6's are freaking amazing. I have a fretted 6 HS and it's my main bass - has been for a few years now.

Pulled the trigger on a Bongo H6. ( Black/Rosewood, Bk-Pearl Guard )
Just dig the single H pickup. Thanks to Beaver and the crew at Bass Central. Amazing price.

Had to try a 6'er.
Fedex just drop off a Black H 6 Bongo at my door.
I must say this is a monster. Huge, aggressive, defined tone.
Always a fan of the single H, this bass delivers.
Love the neck profile, easy to play.
Will test drive it a rehersal on Friday.

I just got a Sky Blue 6HH. I am really digging it. It is used but in great shape. The neck pickup is maybe 1/4" lower than the bridge, how does the Bongo come from the factory.
Also, does anyone have a pic of a Bongo that is the same color with a Tort pickguard?

I think that's normal on pickup height.
I nearly got tort for my 5 HS in Sky Blue, but I opted for white pearl. The tort is cool but I think the white guards look better with the blue.
Mine came with a white pearloid pickguard, it looks decent and I think it would look great with white pickups.
For some reason I just don't want Black, I figure a tort would look good because of the Rosewood fretboard.

So how close/far away does Bongo tone compare to Stingray Classic? I have been seriously considering trading my Classic V for a Bongo 6 but I have reservations about the tone. Will the Bongo cop the same vibe? Is it important to get a single H to keep that kind of tone? Etc......
IMO - A Bongo will cope a many Stingray tones and personality pretty well - even the HH and HS models. On top of that, the Bongo will have a ton of other options as well (just like the Stingray, it has a pretty wide range of tones!). I've owned Stingray Classics (a 5er), Sterling single-H, Sterling HH.
However, it won't be an exact replica. It'll be ... like an impersonation at best. It'll be in the ball park - heck, it'd be in the infield. But it won't be exact.
