The Combo Club

Nice pic! If there was a combo in it I'd offer you a membership number on the spot too. Speaking of combos...

Why not trade it back in for a combo of your choice like a Rumble 100 for about the same price? Or grab an R40 for a hundred less and add a pedal or two just for fun? Either way, you'll get the sound you seem to like, enjoy the ultimate portability, and still have something to play with on Christmas morning.

Or not, it's just my two cents. Me? I'd score one of the Ampeg Rocket bass combos and still get a great tone, a more realistic 'Peg tone than the Micro CL (remember, I'm the guy who gave it the downvote?), and it's an easy carry to wherever you need to take it.

Finally, I love your pics, as said, but there are a few blue bloods in this club who abhor anything that isn't a one-piece box containing preamp, power amp, and speaker. I'd seriously grab a combo, post it, score a membership number, and live a happy life. Again, just my $0.02. Let us know what you decide. :hyper:

edit: as is usual for me, I did not read any of the posts below yours where I see now they recommended the same combos I did. This is why we're a club; we all think smart as well as realistic.

I do have an Ampeg BA110 and like its tonal options and portability. Just too weak to keep up with drums at only 40 watts. I want something with a little more balls. Torn between the Ampeg Rocket Bass RB112 and Fender Rumble 100.

Ahhh choices. Lol. I had the BA 110. I did not like that. I had the Rumble 100. I loved that. Kicking myself for not keeping it. (Have the Rumble 500 & 25 now still though) @iagtrplyr likes his Rocket Bass 112. Both great options I’d say.
So now you have to decide lol. Ahh GAS!

An Ampeg 15, Rumble 200c or 500c would be my choice.

BINGO! And an Ampeg at that. JPS, I'd like to offer you membership #269 to the Combo Club for your Ampeg BA-110. Yeah, it's not a real powerlifter, but definitely has a sweet tone. {lease accept this offer and you'll receive gifts prizes totaling millions of Schmackeroons. If you're lucky, you might even receive a free token at Morrighan's Laundromat for Bassists and Cineplex. She can give you the details. There's a free decoder ring in it for you even though the guy in charge of it will tell you I'm wrong. Trust me, I'm never wrong.

Gimme the word and you're in! Now, for your current dilemma. the Rumble 100 is a fine combo and one I owned for quite a long time, but my ears threatened me with a strike if I didn't replace it with the RB-112 combo and I'm really glad I did. Better mids, IMHO, and its overall sexiness say you've arrived in style. Give it a listen and see what you think. Honestly, either one will work if your plan was to own the Micro CL.

I am leaning towards the Ampeg Rocket Bass 112

:hyper:After a long wait and saving, we finally have a pair of #269s.:hyper:
To keep things easy, I propose to make them #269A and #269B.:smug:

My Ampeg Micro-CL Stack arrived yesterday and after a few hours playing I have decided to return. The sound is blah from the basic ampeg head unit, when I plugged the cab to my rumble 800 head it sounded so much better. Guess I am truely a Rumble Man!
Is it worth to keep and use the ampeg 2×10 cab with my fender head? It was a demo so only paid $328. Is the cab alone worth that? I am looking for a small travel unit for low to medium volumes. Again this is mainly used for home practice and maybe travel to friend's house jams. Or may its better to return and just use my rumble 4x10c and 800hd and deal with the bulkView attachment 4509131
Izzatta Hartke 7000 head over there????
Nice

The Ampeg Rocket series is pretty sweet. Can’t go wrong with any of them IMO. I’ve got the 15 loaded version. And despite my having other bigger amps, my Rocket easily gets the most play of any of them.
