Everytime I think my mind is made up on a new practice combo I read new posts and get lost again. Main use for this combo is for home and the occasional travel to friend's studio to jam with fellow musicians.
Lets get some more opinions on the Fender Rumble 100 vs the Ampeg Rocket Bass 112.

Look your gonna get different opinions. People here love both. The FL loves his Rocketbass. Guys like @GonePlaid and @G-Dog like their Rumbles. I’ve settled on the Rumbles I have the R500 and the R25 (and wish I still had my R100) but that’s just me.
I owned the Rocketbass 115, for two weeks, it wasn’t for me.
Your ear has to decide. Order both from Guitar Center. Then take the one you don’t like back to your local GC. That way no return shipping.
Most GCs have both in stock too so you can go check them both out in store.
The Rumble 100 is $350 and weighs 22lbs.
The Rocketbass 112 is $400 and 26lbs.
They both have a distinct sound to them.
With the Rumble you have that old school silver face look. They have been around for a long time and are reliable.
The Ampeg has that gorgeous diamond tolex cover and has that great Ampeg sound/tone. (Btw I don’t think the BA110 has that Ampeg sound I had one)
I think bottom line is you can make just about any amp sound the way you want it to if you fiddle with it enough.
Bottom line in my mind is the sound of a guitar player be it a 6 string player or 4 string player is the tone resides in the heart the hands and the head and comes out of the soul and the box your plugged in to.

I don’t know much about the new Rocket Bass amps, but l've loved my Rumble 500 (210) for over 7 years with nary a discouraging word.
Basically, the R100 and RB112 seem fairly well matched. Both 100 watts into an Eminence 12" speaker, with FX Loop, XLR Line Out, footswitchable dual-controlled Overdrive and special voicings*. Both XLR Outs are affected by the Volume control. Neither can increase power by driving an external cab.
The Rocket costs about 14% more, weighs about 18% more and takes up about 29% more space. The Rumble comes with no internal acoustic lining that some users install to make it sound less "boxy". The Rocket has padded and unpadded inputs, while the Rumble has a Gain control for that and for adjusting drive and Overdrive. The Rocket has Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo *voicings, while the Rumble has Vintage, Contour & Bright *voicings. The Rocket has a 3-band B,M,T EQ, while the Rumble has a 4-band B,HM,LM,T EQ.
So, it would appear that, as most people say, it does just come down to whether prefer the Ampeg sound or the Fender sound. And, if you don't know that, ... well, ... that's for you to find out.

All the more reason to "try before you buy". Order both with a return policy...you can't go wrong. I am so happy with my Rumbles. I don't need to compare but, if you do, got for it. Pick the one that gives you the warm and fuzzies and send the other one back.
.Whenever I use my fender it takes a while for me to once again like the sound. When I switch back to an ampeg it just sounds right. My first bass amp was an ampeg so thats what I find comfortable.
She’s been relegated to rehearsal duty but she’s still kicking major booty.
