Looks to be the 35 W model? I have 70 W already, so I'm looking for about 150-300 W, and light weight.

The specs on the amp I'm considering replacing:
150 W into 4 ohms
12" speaker
13.5" wide, 8.5" deep, 16" tall
26 lbs.

Specs on the combo I'm looking at:
200 W
10" speaker
12" wide, 14" deep, 13.3" tall
18 lbs.

Combos less than 100 W and more than 30 lbs are right out.
Needs to have an external drive for another cabinet.

How about using the line out from your Double Four to drive a powered cab?

Looks like you are using it to support your double bass? Or do you run an electric bass instead?

A very good point.

You (@GonePlaid you) play to audiences who don't care a whit about the band's amps. Big tour acts play to people out there who are mentally tabulating their future purchases.

Ain't nothing like TFW each bass string has its own amplification system, though.

Quite true. When my daughter and I started going to Chicago concerts, I was awaiting the stage guys removing the opening act's gear so I could see what Chicago was using....Nothing. Not one dang amp on the stage. Everything wireless(bass and guitar anyway. IDK keyboards)to the PA.

We've been to 14 Chicago concerts. Nary a visible amp at any of them including the 4 times we saw them on a double bill with EWF. Everything was through the monstrous PA's(different venues).

At a big venue, the PA is all you're likely to hear regardless of what's on the stage. I just know some people still run amps but hidden in isolation boxes, with mics inside the boxes going to the PA. That way they get the clean stage look[1] but still get their amp tone. I'll grant you that's less necessary today than before, given the advances in electronics.

[1] Or in some cases run a small amp while looking like they are using huge amps.

Well, sure. But in a large venue, only those close to the stage are likely to hear the stage as such. For everyone else, it's buried in the mix.

Well, I do tend to like combos. I find them nice to carry one item in and not need to worry about making the connections when I'm there.

My normal rig is a Phil Jones, and the company does not make anything that hits the sweet spot for me yet.

I've been petitioning for a Quad Four ever since I got my Double Four, so we'll see if anyone is listening.

Lots of love for this little guy.

Technically, it’s my #1 rig whenever I play outside my living room (which is very infrequent). The PF20T paired with the PF112 or paired with a pair of SVT210's (one is in the background) get a lot more play time, but they stay put.
