Yes! Early videos show Jimi looking straight up and kissing after that line. Later videos show him looking over at the bass player and kissing, then cracking up laughing!! Great sense of humor.

Eureka!! The 310's 2 ohms gets the 370 to open up and gets a very impressive punch from the cab. So I've since had a longer speaker cable made for the 370 and will be using them together as a separate head and cab. The cab is about 35 or 40 lbs lighter now as well, and a lot more fun to get in and out of my house.[/HERESY]

Don’t you poo on The Gangster of Love’s wonderful album. Though I enjoyed some his earlier work, it was that album and its psychedelic vibe that got me. “The Window” is a terrific example of that. To each his own, but you gotta agree that album beat the heck out of Macho City!

Despite the Brand Loyalty I spoke of earlier, I’d always wanted an amp from SWR...who doesn’t?!!

In fact, I A-B’d the Redhead and the T-Max twice before I decided that my ears just weren’t sophisticated enough to justify the extra coin (and there were a bunch of ‘em involved!) for the Redhead.

Never regretted the choice for a moment, but when this opportunity presented itself about 10 years ago, I jumped at it! :thumbsup:

The LA Series (IIRC) came as a 10”, a 12”, and a 15”.

Like so many weekend warriors with a subscription to Bass Player in the ‘90s, I felt like I NEEEDED to play through 10s or get shipped off to the Island of Rigs-O-Shame.

I was so happy to get back to the warmth and roundness of the 15!

I’m still just as happy today.:thumbsup:

Ghost, is the gig still in progress? 'Cuz if it is you guys should be working on breaking a world record or something! That is a lethal-looking rig, my fellow club member. Love that Sting P-bass. Ghostie, you know I'm gonna ask; what were you're settings last night? Did ya hang on just a couple or were you spinning the dial depending on what you were playing? Also, have you messed with the Hi-Watt model, Bri watts (#34)? I'm also currently digging the basic tube preamp. Great clean tone. Super pics, keep 'em coming as the gigs roll on. Your stage look is very nice.

Had one a number of years ago. GC was blowing out their floor models and this one was around $225 maybe. I thought it might be fun to check it out, being there has been so many positive comments over the years. I'd say it meets Roland's expectations, meaning if you don't try and do something like plays alive gig with it, the amp will suffice. That means in the back room, no other instruments, and a low-level audio player to jam with. Or use the multiple rhythms they give you and enjoy the alone time. IMHO, much more than that, except maybe noodling out in the back porch or patio with battery power, and you might as well move up to a small, but louder combo with a deeper tone. Those 4" speakers don't put out much bottom as you probably figured out. In comparison to other amps like this (Blackstar, Eden, the new Laney model) it's definitely more expensive, but again, offers a lot more in the way of features. Roland's have a terrific track record too, but if I were you I'd either try one out first or buy it at a brick 'n mortar so you can drop it back off if you decide it doesn't have enough...bass. Hope this helped!

Yeah, I'm on, I'm ranting, offering opinions, and now finally using the classifieds! Check out my SX PJ bass that I'm almost giving away. If you know of any lefties out there looking for their first bass, this would be decent for a while. Then once they get good at playing they'll be begging for a Fender! It's a really nice-looking bass, but the electronics are probably lesser quality than GP's garage door opener...

BTW, enjoyed my phone call to Musician's Friend yesterday. After they pushed back the shipment of my LT25 combo for yet another week (4th time doing this), I called yesterday morn and gave them an old-fashioned Iowa tongue lashing, yet while maintaining my Combo club classiness. I said that I pre-ordered the amp on 2/2 and they were now looking at 3/28 to finally ship and that Sweetwater has been selling it for weeks in stock. Makes me think where MF/GC is on the pecking order with Fender. Though I admitted the $20 savings was attractive and that I expected some delay, this was too much and I told the guy (who I told I'm not personally blaming) it's been this way with a number of items over the past year or two.

So he asks me if I'd like another amp, and I said, "Young man, I'm always looking at another amp," but I said no, though I'm hunting for a replacement bass for the soon-to-be-gone SX, BUT that I would be shopping for a place where it's in stock, be it an actual store or online. I've been shopping there, like maybe many of you have as well, for 20 years now, but those days maybe about over if I can find somewhere better stocked. Anyone have a recommendation they'd like to toss out on a Sunday afternoon? I'm all ears.

Finally, saw Bohemian Rhapsody last night. I'm from California and we're known as being late to everything. Mrs. Fearless Leader and I really enjoyed it, if only for the fact that this was during our growing-up years and brought back many memories. If you haven't seen it yet, make a point to do so, especially if you liked Queen.

That's it, back to work. Then off to transpose "Have it All" from E to G to A. Lead singers...what can you do with them? Enjoy the song though I'm still looking for my sweet spot in the song.
