Hartley Peavey more or less turned operations over to his(I think)son-in-law who sent as much as possible overseas and put a bunch of local people outta work. This after talking with pride of keeping people employed in MS. I'm aware that other companies of all kinds have done the same but their methods just really felt like a 'hose' job. They still say "Proudly engineered in (wherever), Mississippi". Yeah, and manufactured in China. So's lotsa other stuff but the others don't "wave the flag". Just rubbed me the wrong way. The older Peavey stuff I have is built like a tank and works well but I don't feel they deserve any more of my bu$ine$$. I'm sure they care about my mini protest(NOT!). Plus I'm happy with the gear I have so to them I say ""
Yes, I'm up late because I'm still trying to sync up with the new time change. If ya want to read your fearless leader in action defending combo use, hop on over to (below) and check out my response to Dr. Jim's constant whine about using combos live. I finally had enough, but still kept it respectful. I'll take some likes if you agree!
Do you use a Combo amp when you Gig? If so, what is it?
Yeah, Meridian, MS. (sigh) CRS again.......actually, still.Understood, fine sir, and appreciated. Yeah, it's been a story that we've sadly seen too often. That's why both Alaskaleftybass (Will) and I got so excited when GK brought production back to the USA a few years ago. Small potatoes maybe, but it kinda goes along with what you were saying, GP. The parts inside are from everywhere, but selling out on your loyal workers is bad business, IMHO. BTW, I think it's Meridian, isn't it?

Liked. Plus, dropped my 2¢, too.
Speaking of "ghosts" what I see here is the ghost of the 70s when a bass combo amp was (to some) a Rig 'O Shame. Every working bass player I know circa 82 hauls a cab or two, and rack mount is nirvana because, you know, it's so portable compared to hauling in ah well you know the tale as well as I.
Like the burned toast story in The Shining, it's something that happened a long time ago and is gone, but you can still smell it.
And pros are gigging with combos. Gosh. Who'd a thunk.
Check out Bruce Thomas' rig on SNL...
ths, if you're new to these friendly parts, just ask for a membership number and I'll get ya one ASAP.
Dear Unpronounceable!
Thanks for the kind words!
I’ve been lovin’ my T-Max for almost 30 years,now... no Rig-o-Shame here.
If it’s still available, may I have #420?
✌️
Not all of us!Unless you want #105 because that went by already and we can do fractions.

You may have left out the very important inverse-growth factor created by not following the trendy norms of other TB clubs but that might be an indicator of the ‘combo gene’. That little difference that makes us embrace the humble combo in the first placeI dunno, Fearless Leader not give #666 to that heavy metal guy before. Preferring to stay with "next number generator" he got for birthday.
