The extension cabinet from GC showed up today. Zoinks! This is just what the doctor ordered. And if this is what GC means by “fair” condition, they need to get their eyes checked. Other than a little wear on the corners, this doesn’t look like it ever left the previous owner’s house.

Is thankink comrades for helpful suggestions. But, Fearless Leader has been quite consistent over the years in his choice of hats, although his choice of emblems varies from time to time. Is currently in mood for homage to Charlie Chaplin's "double-cross", while simultaneously keepink Eagle motif!

Googling for "sweet rig" keeps coming back here. What's with that ...

Okay gotta ask what's with the Templeboard? They look pretty cool for pedal boards. I like their board planner and that's as far as I got. But thinking the small Duo is more than enough for my needs, the Solo is probably enough for my needs. But cool boards.

Wowee! Someone actually took a piece of my advice for once and ran with it. I am honored you took that recommendation seriously and have no ill feelings should you decide to return it. As mentioned, to each his or her own. Give a serious audition, Rhaco, and run the darn thing through its paces. Again, if you have a smartphone, add the app to it and mess around from across the room. Those of us who own either the Stage or Studio models have our faves, but the hot ones right now are the Deep Rumble, Ameg SVT, GK, Hi-Watt Clean, as well as Fender models (Bassman, TV). Finally, hook up the footswitch for added fun.

Let us know what you think, especially in comparison to the Eden and B'star. I'm still voting for the Unity combo though I have no idea why. What a great way to spend your June. Continued good hunting!

So, I've been bouncing my way through the 3 amps and right now I'm leaning toward the fender. The Eden is great, but it's features aren't really a good fit for me. I have a compressor I love, the enhance just scoops in a way I came easily do myself, and the bass boost (while more useful than a typical bass boost because it's more of a parametric thing not just a dB boost} is something I could get with a preamp, or a solid dialing in of a lot of amps. The blackstar is great, but I just feel like it's already 2/3 of the way to the modeling amp anyway. The fender plays nicer with my current equipment in that it will independently power an extension, and it's good for transcription because I'm having an easier time dialing in a match to what I'm working on.
The eden did have a great layout, and the blackstar is the most flexible non-modeling amp I've ever seen. They're all great. (BTW,I know I may have sort of been flexible with the definition of "modeling amp," but I think my point still stands.)
I'm shipping out the "losers," tomorrow, so one more night to wow.
