Anybody heard or have one of the ashdown original 300 210 or 1 12 combo's? No one I know has one and looking for a combo for rehearsals and maybe some small clubs to use it.

... ... NOTE: Rumble Studio 40 on the way, with pedal.
... ... , any decision to buy a Rumble Studio 40 is a good one, as far as I am concerned.
I am looking at a recording device to go directly to my computer and wondered if anyone's using something similar. It's the iRig2, based on the review of one of the bass experts on YT. $40 and minimal hardware to use. I have little idea what it actually sounds like, so if you've previously used or are currently using it at home please chime in with an opinion.
I have an iRig and an iRig2. I find that they are actually pretty transparent as far as how the device itself sounds.
You get a free download of AmpliTube when you buy one. It comes with a limited selection of amps and you can buy others if you want. I haven’t bought any others. It comes with a free model of an Acoustic 360, I think. I have mostly used AmpliTube when I travel for work and want to plug into my iPad and practice in my hotel room. I usually use a set of headphones.
I have used the iRig2 to plug into my Mac a few times and record into GarageBand. My bass sounds like my bass when I have done that. I’m really just learning about doing some of that and do not have a basis of comparison to say how it is vs. anything else.
I have always just plugged straight into the iRig with my bass. I’ve mostly used it for travel, like I said. I’ve never tried to run any pedals through it, so I don’t know how that would work.
Always interested in hearing results from different modern (hybrid/class D) amps for those that best depict a "tube amp" from years ago.
On the subject of a 15"er, a Rumble 15 Cab could get your Stage 800 to a place for comparison and under budget.
To buy a Warwick $$ or not too? Only $500 right now and they list for $ $1,500. Can't find a decent video on it. Of course I can send it back within 45 days. Should probably get another Ibanez Meezo as it was the most fun bass I ever played. NOTE: Rumble Studio 40 on the way, with pedal.

Could I BE any more of a Beatles fan? Well, yeah, sure, of course I could. But, over the decades, my musical interests have gone deeper into the Beatles influences and my own family roots. Not "stuck in the 60s", but actually regressed into the 50s, 40s and beyond!
Speaking of which, how about that PBS series, "Country Music"? Man, it's really filling in lots of gaps between things I've seen and heard all my life! Makes me appreciate my monthly Bluegrass Jams all the more.
.
Sounds like a worthwhile project to me.
I've been thinking about a small combo to keep by my desk for practicing. I don't have the money for anything now but that never stopped me before...
Recalling that upthread we dangled the possibility of dueling Ampeg BA-108v2 "upgrades". An Eminence Alpha 8a is the direct replacement, IIRC. And yet have no idea if it truly is a direct drop-in. Very much feels like an October afternoon sort of thing to do, yes?
Over a few doors down on this forum, folks who play it report the new Phil Jones Micro 7 combo beats both the Double 4 and BG-100 for tone. And can be had for less coin than PJB stuff is known to run as part of the new 7 inch line. Basically the combo is half my Cab 27 and a 50 watt PJB amp. AUX in with its own volume knob, headphone out and line out at 15.5 pounds. And automagically accepts any current. This is certainly the sort of thing interesting to one (such as myself) who enjoys freedom to travel
Otherwise my luthier informs me it's possible to fit my semi-hollowbody with TV Jones Thunder'Trons. It's something that looks fun, but a driver upgrade for the practice amp, well ...

Oh, I was just doing a little proselytizing, inviting new "comboite", Cyborg, to the Rumble Club. I know, I know! What kinda low life goes into a club thread and invites members to other club threads? Inconceivable!
OK, so, here's a pic of a combo, . . . . just because.
.
No, but I tried out the new Ashdown studio 15. It just didn't work for me, darn it. Had high hopes. I just couldn't get a tone I liked. Would have liked to tried it with an Ibanez. Just the SG and Fender VI.Anybody heard or have one of the ashdown original 300 210 or 1 12 combo's? No one I know has one and looking for a combo for rehearsals and maybe some small clubs to use it.
That’s the attitude! Shop away, aproud1, or join my merry mate, Morrighan, and I as we take a trip to the land of Update. Just an inexpensive tweek that may offer the two of us a nice improvement!
Thanks, M, for your input. First the speaker upgrade, from what I remember reading not that many moons ago, the Alpha 8A drops in with little to no hassle. If anyone out there in TB wish to second that, we’re all ears. The specs look solid and if it not only offers us a little more volume, but more importantly a more solid low tone, than what’s not to like? I’ll take the plunge this weekend if they’re in stock and hopefully have it in and running by next weekend. Deal? Thelma and Louise, move over...there’s a new duo flying off the cliff!
Now onto Part Two! I agree, from what I’m hearing, the Micro 7 does seem to be the one with all the tone in the PJB family of their lower-priced combos. I guess I haven’t seriously looked at it because the Foxy Voxy holds that mini 50-watt place in my heart. Just under five bills for the D4, is a hard one to swallow too, but it’s still a long way to the holidays though and I’m just getting started. Thanks, as always, for your thoughts.

Sorry I haven’t checked in for a while. Been busy setting up new band, holidays, work, DIY, getting annoyed about Brexit, etc, etc!
I do pop into the clubhouse from time to time, but usually it’s just for a quick pint early doors and I’m on my way again!
Think I might have mentioned getting a Blackstar Fly Combo to take on business trips? I’ve now taken delivery of my early Christmas Present, a Steinberger Spirit XT-2DB. This will be much easier than my old Squier Jazz Bass to squeeze into my car and carry when I’m checking in to hotels, already laden with suitcase, laptop etc. Just got to get used to playing it now!
I do also have an i-rig but couldn’t really get it on with it. Biggest problem was getting my bass loud enough when playing along to songs.
BTW, did three gigs with previous band (singer, 2 guitars, drums and bass) using my twin GK MB112 rig and it performed really well. Great sound and plenty of volume in reserve.
That’s all folks!

Fortunately I'm not much of a road warrior anymore.
