Gee 'Dog, you were the last to post on Saturday evening and killed the thread. What did he say, people? I would've jumped in but haven't been free to indulge my hobbies until this evening and now I have to go to sleep. Definitely a slow weekend where currently we're at the bottom of Page 4.
Does anyone have anything new on the horizon? I myself have been kicking around three amps, but what's the point if I'm not playing with any of the ones sitting in the mancave, right? I am looking at a recording device to go directly to my computer and wondered if anyone's using something similar. It's the iRig2, based on the review of one of the bass experts on YT. $40 and minimal hardware to use. I have little idea what it actually sounds like, so if you've previously used or are currently using it at home please chime in with an opinion.
And if you're wondering why I'm looking at one of these, it still has to do with making some Beatle bass recordings for Soul Reflection from numerous weeks ago. I did one meh one, IMHO, two weeks ago and sent it on, but thought maybe I could do better (alongside playing better walking blues bass) with the recording. Thanks in advance!
Okay, membership, let's get this club back with the living again. BTW, here's on my Top Three List for Christmas: (in no specific order) 1)
VOX Mini Superbeetle Rig (yeah, I'm an idiot, but I'm still wanting it for its vibe and if the tone is as good as the combo I can easily live with it); 2)
Hartke HD150 (this is to satisfy my recent yen for a 15" speaker. In other words, I harken for Hartke! Never owned one before and thought it'd be a reasonably-priced way to get a full-sized combo with a new tone for my old ears); 3)
PJB BG-75 Double Four (I know, an identical twin to the Hartke! Actually, I've been interested in playing through a Phil Jones combo ever since M spun wild tales of how good his stuff is, both in sound and workmanship. I see it as the combo to bring to the retirement place in a few years. Of course, these have to work perfectly with the hollow-bodied bass, but I'd also like it to play well with the Jazzer too.
My price range is probably between $350 and $500, but I can be flexible if there's a better product out there. So toss out an idea or two and I'll respect the time you invested by looking it over. It's greatly appreciated.

Could I BE any more of a Beatles fan? Well, yeah, sure, of course I could. But, over the decades, my musical interests have gone deeper into the Beatles influences and my own family roots. Not "stuck in the 60s", but actually regressed into the 50s, 40s and beyond!
