Off to the sack, everyone. Finished my homework, did a little bass playing (I'll Be Home for Christmas), and said "hi" to my friends from around the globe. Here are my final takeaways from today:

1) Australia is very hot right now
2) Texas is definitely large. My first year of teaching and my then-wife and I decided to Greyhound it home for Christmas from Laredo to Iowa. Yes, it took a day just to get through Texas! Lovely trip. Went back to Tejas in a luxurious mobile home with complete strangers. Ah, the 20th Century...what a rush!
3) Ampeg's rock, no doubt about it.
4) Doc, if the deal falls through, PM me and we'll work out a fun way to get my Voxy to you. Man, you need this combo more than I do, and I promise to actually get it to your house!
5) three more days to go. Tomorrow is a normal one, but the last two are gonna be crazy. That's okay, I'm two-thirds of the way there already.

Okay, folks, THIS is GP's best picture ever! It's like a mountain of Rumble that'll crumble if you drive into it with your car because who the @##$% thinks someone is gonna put their combos out in the driveway? Love it!

shadven, did you find it at your local GC or did you have it shipped? Why I'm asking is the one in my avatar is for $279 at the Davenport, IA store. It's in fair condition and looks similar to yours. What condition did they list yours at? I'm thinking maybe the combo is 15-20 years old? How close am I? I'm asking because I made a promise to keep the amp as my avatar until it sells. How long am I gonna have to wait???

I think that may be the one I bought. It did ship from another GC, but I don’t recall from where. I’ll look at my receipt. And I think it was $279.

Jesus. Christmas at 46°C, that's insane. Thanks god we've got 45°C less. Atm it's raining, raining, raining. It didn't stop the last 72hrs. Hopefully Santa sends some snow for Christmas.

I guess, I shouldn't wrote this. In the last few days it turned to 18°C, sunny, no rain at all and not the slightest chance for a white christmas in central Europe. Not like down under but we're getting closer.

I also forgot to contribute to the temperature discussion. While Giffro is experiencing +40c temperatures our temperatures were 80 degrees lower. We had an extreme cold warning where I live last week, as temperatures were below -37c with the windchill. We usually get a week or more of -40c temperatures every winter, but typically not until after Christmas. It also starts getting dark here around 4pm. It's for both those reasons that last year we started the tradition of keeping the Xmas tree up for all of December and January. It makes the cold and dark time a lot easier to deal with.

There was a news story a while back about how we Norwegians use the word «Texas» to describe something wild and chaotic. The story was widely reported in the US, and I dare say offended a lot of Americans, Texans especially, of course.

Now that's funny (I'm not offended). I wasn't born here but have lived here since the mid 1980s. Native Texans do get a bit testy at times when poked. Don't even get me started on the beans versus no beans in chili debate LOL.

I keep my wagon under the outside carport/verandah area cause there are too many spiders in my garage and I hate spiders loll After years of keeping my car in the garage, one night driving home from band practise a giant Aussie Huntsman spider sprang up onto the inside windscreen right in front of my eyes...ive never pulled over so quick..luckily it was a quiet sidestreet not far from home. I musta sat in the gutter for an hour before building up the courage to wack it with a street directory then drive the remaining 1/2 mile home in a feverish sweat loll Since that night Ive never parked in the Arachnid Garage. If you guys don't know Aussie huntsman spiders they are very big..see car dashboard pic loll

It’s understandable, especially as most reports tended to have the slant that Norwegians think Texans are crazy, which of course we don’t. I’ve never been to Texas myself, BTW, but I have a brother who spent four years at North Texas in Denton.

Loll Doc..not to mention the snakes, crocodiles, sharks, blue ringed octopus, dingoes and crazed housewives. Actually the Aussie Huntsman spider I mentioned before is relatively harmless..just frighteningly BIG loll
