To those of you who may have thought I met an early demise, it was only wishful thinking. I am alive, well, and exactly four days from vacation.

Following a very busy weekend (#2’s birthday weekend extravaganza to be exact), I am literally drowning in paperwork. We’re trying to tidy up loose ends before slapping a bow on the week and that included shopping for a classroom of fifth graders tonight. But I was in luck as I found 22 black plastic string winders that I thought would make great stocking stuffers for a group of nine-year olds.

As for club-things, you folks have been doing great, keep up the fine work! This past weekend was the first in a decade I didn’t write on the board and it felt weird. I haven’t played much either and that’s driven me to wanna move to Australia and score a deep suntan!

After I finish this manifesto I plan on being on no later than the weekend with a follow up of our Christmas concert. I learned something new last Friday when I was introduced to side fill PA speaker support. Wow! Who needs an amp?

Before I go, a couple of things: someone make sure to turn Giffro over every hour on the hour; find our what Morrighan is doing predawn, and get the number of a good shrink for Doc Intrepid because now he’s envisioning free amps moving to Canada!

Thanks for the thought about someone turning me over every hour on the hour too Mike..at 47C degrees this coming Friday I can feel my butt sizzling on the outside laz-e-boy more than the snags on the barbie (to convert/translate that to English American - I can feel my posterior getting a tad warm on my outdoor seating more so than the sausages on the BBQ) so please someone turn me over when I start to sizzle.

Never a truer word spoken by a banana bender..lolll Howdy Bazz..yep my mate and his wife only made it back a couple days ago from 3 months touring NSW and FNQ (Pt Douglas mainly) and have lobbed back home here in sunny ol Adelaide just in time to enjoy the lovely warm weather (or in good Aussie-Speak..The Stinking Hot Adelaide Christmas) loll

47 Celsius (or 116.6 Fahrenheit) is scary. Add in the busiest and most stressful time of the Aussie year and you have the makings of a difficult week. Luckily you are a Bass player because....even though you are a crow eater...you are cool.

In Canada we have a funny fake news radio show called 'This is That'. They do fake stories, but people think they are real and will actually call the radio station to complain (it is the national public radio station - CBC). Anyway, one story, that they did quite well, was how in Australia they use the term 'Canadian' for 'idiot'. It was very funny. I'm sure you can find it online if you're interested. Another story was about how a condo high rise was built without bathrooms.

We must be more polite here in South Oz Doc cause ive never heard that expression used here..maybe its an east coast Aussie thing..maybe BazzaBass has heard of it used? We do tend to have "Blonde" moments here in SA loll

There was a news story a while back about how we Norwegians use the word «Texas» to describe something wild and chaotic. The story was widely reported in the US, and I dare say offended a lot of Americans, Texans especially, of course. Now, in contrast to @Doctor Intrepid 's story it was completely true. Norwegians do refer to chaotic situations in that way, but it’s not really anything to do with Texas as such, it’s more of a Wild West reference, with Texas being one of the few US states Norwegians could remember by name. Which doesn’t reflect that well on Norwegians either, I suppose.

In July of 66, after my first Navy cruise, I got leave to come home. Airlines were on strike. I shoulda tooken the train, but to save money, took the Greydog. San Diego to Miami-3 days, one of which was all in Texas. If the airlines had still been on strike at the end of leave, I'd still be AWOL.

I added one of these guys back into my stable. I’ve had B100’s in the past and I’ve really been missing this little workhorse. $289 at online from GC. Great sounding with a small footprint.

shadven, did you find it at your local GC or did you have it shipped? Why I'm asking is the one in my avatar is for $279 at the Davenport, IA store. It's in fair condition and looks similar to yours. What condition did they list yours at? I'm thinking maybe the combo is 15-20 years old? How close am I? I'm asking because I made a promise to keep the amp as my avatar until it sells. How long am I gonna have to wait???

Giff, I'm going to try my hardest not to visualize anything you wrote above. I don't think my retinas could handle it. Stay cool, our Australian friend and remember, 20 minutes on either side with a slab of butter to coat!
