The Combo Club

Sounds about right SR...I think Mike has undergone Bing Crosby's White Christmas too many times lolll..My wife tends to watch Its A Wonderful Life annually while I sleep off my Christmas Pud loll
Extra Wiki Info:
There are competing theories for the origins of the term, none of which is definitive. The Oxford English Dictionary gives the earliest attestations from Britain in the 1830s, defining it as "the first weekday after Christmas day, observed as a holiday on which postmen, errand boys, and servants of various kinds expect to receive a Christmas box."
In Britain, it was a custom for tradesmen to collect "Christmas boxes" of money or presents on the first weekday after Christmas as thanks for good service throughout the year.
My wife (Charly) said...or in your case darling its the case of me boxing your ears with all the cheek you've said about me on the Combo Forum lollll

See, I was right. Thanks Charly! ;)

While you’re getting your boxers on, we’re winding down our Christmas night with the annual viewing of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas. Though there’s nothing even remotely white currently outside, we enjoy closing the night out with it. I may even sneak a little playing time in before bed.

Tomorrow begins homework where I have six assessments to correct. I’m thinking one for each day and am calling it “The Six Days of Work.”

Giff, I can’t understand why an entire nation celebrates such a brutal sport such as boxing for an entire day, but hey, go for it. I’d pay to see Ali vs. Frasier again!

Enjoy the lamb...
Dunno its got anything at all to do with the sport of boxing Mike..here is the info from Wiki.

The name is a reference to holiday gifts.
Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants and the day when they received a 'Christmas Box' from the master. The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give 'Christmas Boxes' to their families.

PS. Turns out that Lamb dinner is Roast Chicken lolll
It really is lamb, but "it tastes like chicken".:smug:

I guess boxing day is a Commonwealth thing. It used to be the busiest shopping day in Canada. Now Black Friday is just like in the US. In Canada we are moving from one empire to the next I guess.

Sorry ‘bout that. We have a penchant for barging in and taking over. Maybe things are changing now. We’re having enough trouble keeping our own house in order.

Speaking of the VOX combo, it likes to be up off the floor but I like it on my Gramma iso pad with a wedge underneath to bring it closer to my ear. I think you get more bottom that way. Feel free to experiment, oh doctor of science.

Just behave there Mike and leave ya Gramma's bottom outta this!

America hasn't officially invaded Canada for over 200 years, so we're good. The American empire has spread more due to producing cultural goods people like as well as a long liberal peace. The US has done some bad stuff for sure, as does every top dog.

Canadian Boxing Day was more Canadian Exchange Day...got to be such a problem interfering with the sales, that many stores wouldn't do exchanges until after New Year.

At the breakfast table this morning. Each of us playing with our new toys. That is my 68, not a reissue. It's been my number one all Christmas break.

How are you liking that little VOX? I'm looking for a very small, under 15 pound combo to use upstairs and take to acoustic jams.

It might fit the bill for ya, RR, especially if you like a more traditional tone. It’s about half the weight you mentioned, puts out a decent amount of volume, gives you what I believe are Tubey characteristics, and is constructed very nicely. For acoustic jams, I think it’s be perfect. Check out YT for a sampling or two.
