I tend to agree with you, MrN. All we can do is pass on that gear music to the next generation in the hopes they’ll continue the legacy.

My 29-year old son was weened on Rush from an early age and continues playing their music. Aside from his love for de-tuned current metal, he’s paid respect to his old man’s influences.

Here’s a plan: we make blues music the centerpiece again, slowly electrify it with Les Pauls, turn up for the volume, call ourselves Led Zeppelin!

Same exact thought, Ghost. It seems the farther we go in life the more evident it is we're on this revolving carousel. What comes around definitely goes around.

I’ll wait for the latest British Invasion where the bands rip off our blues players to create incredible new songs, if there’s anything left in A that hasn’t already been thought of.

That was truly a good band. The 60s and 70s were such a renaissance for music in general, and I wonder if we’ll ever see it again in our lifetime?

I think it actually happens all the time, but that we don’t recognize it when we see it. It’s no coincidence that the music we consider the greatest, no matter when we were born, is the music that was made when we were young. We also tend to forget all the musical nonsense that existed back then.

Here the music has direct access to my skull via a new Sennheiser HD450 BTNC wireless headset. It does everything I want and does it very well. I needed a new headset for conferencing. And it is also a pretty cracking set of headphones with noise cancellation. That noise cancellation is amazing. Turn it on and all the air travel noise is gone.

It replaces a really beat headset that is useless for audio, and a very good set of wired, noise canceling, set of Sennheiser cans that needs replacement ear pads. It'll go to dedicated duty with my BA108v2 Plus.

Not an entirely un-musical Christmas.

... ... , tried the VX50BA today for a bit and I'm quite happy. It has that tone I like and some good volume. Unfortunately I'm not sure it can handle my number 1 - my V63 reissue fretless. The tone is there, but some white noise also comes through. If anyone knows how to get rid of that noise let me know.

... ... Concerning the VOX: she does whistle white noise at ya when the compression/OD buttons are pushed in, I remember that. I believe it's a universal thing though, not just your amp. I honestly don't remember if the gain knob plays as big a role, but I suppose if you're romping on te gain with overdrive the noise will be magnified. Try dropping your treble control and see if that helps a bit. Glad you like the tone of it though. How new is it? Did he break it in or are you going to be doing that? It's got to happen before you really begin to enjoy it, I'm telling ya, Doc. ... ...

I'm not sure if the speaker is broken in or not. It is used, so it might be and I might not have enough experience to tell the difference. I'm liking it, though, and will get more time with it once the youngling goes to mom's today. I may also go to an open mic tonight and have band practice tomorrow, so it will be a musical weekend!

Usually, I do switch out. It's just the way most things work out. I've been around gear all my life. Some mine, but a lot belonging to others. After a while it doesn't mater, as long as there's something there. To me mainly, gear is gear. When I worked the road, it wasn't unusual for some of the players to switch out some gear in another city, just on a whim. It all loaded up the same way, and made it to its next destination. Hence; ROAD REX.

Keep on truckin’, RR! Your idea to try out all of them is brilliant. My prediction is you’ll end up liking the PJBs, but the way you explained your way of thinking it might be the VOX you like. It’s a pretty organic tone to my ears, but I still am concerned you won’t hear enough difference between your bass guitars. I guess you’ll find out the fun way.

I’ve the BX50-BA is what trips your trigger, give me a buzz if you’re interested in one less than what you’ll pay for a brand new model.

Thanks for the encouragement and the offer. I'll need to work some OT to get amp money, but once I do, I'll check out the different deals, test the amps, and post my reviews. I don't expect you to hold onto that amp, but if you've still got it and I end up leaning that direction, I'll certainly let you know.

No, I’d agree with the M’ster on this one. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d think you would want more of a thicker tube tone coming out of your speakers.

I’m using a Hofner Beatle copy and the Foxy Voxy does a sweet job of an old school vibe. Help me someone if I’m off on Jack’s tone that RR seems to be looking for.

But for serious SPL you want two Rumble 800 HDs pushing eight 410s, putting that 1,600 watts into a total of 32 tens!!! Alas, no combos in that.. .

Black Friday is where companies try improve their profits so they won't be in the red(losing money), or so I've heard/read.

Red print on a financial statement (profit or loss) signifies where expenses are higher than revenue(income).

Oh gawd, tell them that it's not always better on this side of the pond. Different, but not better. And personally, I really think that different is good. I don't want to travel to Australia some day and find out that it's just like America. That would be horrible.
