I've already posted here about the firmware upgrade to the Fender Rumble Stage & Studio combos, which was not actually announced so much as deciphered. The only other exciting bass amp, but not combo, NAMM news I've read is the 33 lb. 410 cab and 28 lb. 212 cab from GR Bass.

I'd noticed a severe lack of bass amp gear, esp. combos.
Did Rumble get word about the GR 212 and say "skip it?"

IKR? Exactly my take, too, Goner. Perhaps we were victims of our own (overly hopeful) Rumble rumors!? Hearing someone unaffiliated, AFAIK, with the Rumble Club say, on a video no less, that "a new Rumble combo was expected" really got me excited!

Well, I hope they're taking notes for Summer NAMM! (sigh) At least, my Rumble Studio combo will get, what looks to be, an extensive firmware upgrade.

And yes, I may have dropped the proverbial ball at the goal line with my invisible comments over the update, but I also had full confidence in the surest bet this club has on a daily basis, Agent 007, to swoop in and save the day. Thank you, kind sir!
As for us Fender modelers, if you're like me you've been waiting for an update to stay ahead of whatever glitch is about ready to commence on my combo. After all, it is a computer and it needs updating. Just ask my HP laptop if ya don't believe me!
Same thing over in Thunderbird Club: we've been wishing and hoping for a new Epiphone RI, NR, VP, TBII/IV* in a plethora of finishes. So far, nada. Nada doggone thing.IKR? Chanced to look at the Epiphone bass offerings at their site this morning. Looks like a thinner selection.
A bunch of us would like to see the NR's re-done, this time with TBird pups rather than a P/J setup.

My li'l Rumble Studio 40 made another Bluegrass jam yesterday afternoon. Ironically, I didn't play it much!
The lady guitarist/mandolinist/luthier/bassist/everythingelsist grabbed my bass as as soon as I went to to grab lunch. I'd skipped breakfast and was seduced by the aroma of home cooked food. She has recovered quite well from surgery on her left hand. And I was glad to see her playing, since she previously had refused to have anything to do with my BEAD strung Starcaster! And I played her sweet sounding Sigma guitar, which allowed me to sing more harmonies. So, win-win for both of us! She now claims to have learned, but not yet mastered, a "new instrument"!
Says she's gonna re-tune her bass to better understand BEAD tuning. I told her to get a really thick string for the B!
Oh, and BTW, the Rumble sounded great from across the room, too.

But I still wanna have a little bottom end even at that dropped volume. Ran mine for a couple of nights this week too. With the Eminence speaker I don’t hesitate adding as much bass as I want because I know it’ll sound like I want it too. I’m just wondering when someone besides you and me realize this gem of an amp/speaker combination? When it happens we’ll start an appreciation society!

I was thinking about ya yesterday and hoped that your gig turned out well. The sad part was you didn’t spill the beans on what you had to eat! Beans by any chance?
Otis, that is a striking rig. Besides a nice photo in itself, your gear looks terrific. Markbass tends to be either love/hate with bass beholders, but I can’t see anyone not digging the MB yellow with the natural ash (I’m guessing) of your Stingray. Great combo!
Speaking of what M mentioned, the place was quiet the past few days and that was because it was not only a busy school week, but I wanted to redecorate the club giving it a fresher appeal.
You’ll notice three slight changes: the wall of colorful picks in the restaurant, a new exhibit in our bass museum: Flatwounds from Around the World, and finally, a virtual reality room where you get to choose the band, type of bass/amp, plus wardrobe and play “live” in concert with you as the bassist. I was JPJ playing with the mighty Zep in a London club, circa 1970. It was mildly entertaining...
