And also, situation normal! That is one of the main reasons I spend more time in the Club car than I do playing my basses!

Gave a great deal of consideration to where I wanted my HPF in my signal chain. Settled on before the DI. The Phil Jones BG-400 combo has a built-in HPF, 25 hz or 30 hz, don't recall exactly.

That's a silver (clear) Vox coil cable. Technically that lets me in the hallowed halls of Vox owners .... The little purple doggie is no more, alas, 'tis a sad tale of a very, very bad dog (not mine).

The Fender Rumble 500 comes to mind immediately, I don’t own one but do have three amps in this family. Besides having considerable booty shaking alone (at around 350 Watts), If you ever needed to really “open it up” you could add a second 2x10 cabinet. Perhaps someone who regularly uses one will chime in tonight or tomorrow. This family of amps and cabs has garnered quite a reputation for lightweight (they literally don’t weigh much, but they punch well above their weight class) bass goodness.Simplicity is the key for me....

I had this posted on the amps forum until a TB brother mentioned that there is Combo club. Soooooooo.....
Just looking for some input, advice, directions and opinions....
I have $500 - $600 bucks for a decent combo amp. I'm looking for one that has some "booty" to it and that offers an FX loop and has more than one speaker
like a 2x10, 2x12 etc etc....
Any advice would be awesome!

moe^2, how are ya? You came to the right place for the best advice. I purposely waited to respond to give my fellow wizards a chance to inspire all of us and they did not disappoint. I can definitely see their recommendation for the Rumble 350 combo. For what you’re looking for, it’s an excellent product.
I might also add the Ampeg BA-210 v2. A tad less power, a little more weight, but a different tone that should be auditioned. Hartke has a 500-watt two ten combo that might be worth a look. Pretty basic preamp layout and the classic Hartke sound. It’s a chunk of dough, so your budget may you help determine your purchase.
Don’t forget the brands that don’t have the deep pockets of the popular names we’ve discussing here. Peavey, Blackstar, and maybe Orange are interesting alternatives too. I’d say you need to check out your local GC or favorite music store and see what they have. Keep us posted on your decision.
A lot will depend on what kind of music you're playing, and what kind of sound you want. I strive-not always successfully-for a 60-70's Jamerson type full bottom tone. For what I do, the Rumbles are giving me the best (A) bang for the buck, and (B) don't break my back during load in/out[all our gigs are 1 niters]. Back in the late 70s, I played a 6 night a week hotel gig in Miami Beach for 2 1/2 years. I had a SVT/810 rig, which only came off stage for 2 weeks a year during vacation. Never again will I deal with something that big and heavy. Plus, I didn't like the sound. (Sorry,'Peg lovers)Hello my fellow Talkbass brothers and sisters!
