Buying the combo amp's easy. It's the "going out" part that's a bit....,er, problem.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained I always say. Of course, I say this as a Fender shipment is finally being delivered today.

I've been a fan of Hiatt since Perfectly Good Guitar came out and my band mates made fun of me for agreeing with John that smashing guitars is not cool, it's just a lack of soul.

And so it ends. Just got the refund from guitar center for the B50R. It had an arrival scan in Hodgkins Il. on the 30th and that was the last it was seen. It's lost (or in some UPS employees Jam room) either way, I will never know. I guess I'm stuck with my Fender TV15 (oh darn).

Believe it or not, I’m watching John Hiatt jamming on The Weight with Levon Helm and friends at the Ryman. It’s a PBS special from 2010, I think.

After I picked up my copy of Perfectly Good Guitar, I went back and started getting some of his earlier stuff: Beneath... is a great album, as well as his masterwork, Bring the Family. Maybe no so much Hanging Round the Observatory.

Anyone who's interested in blues-tinged (and often straight-up blues) music with pop hooks and a rock edge can't do much better than to check out some of Hiatt's work. His stuff keeps getting better in my opinion, and I'm always quick to nab his latest album (yes CDs) when they come out. The shows he puts on with Lyle Lovett are absolutely great: a conversation between to very interesting story tellers with interjections of great music.

OK, I'm all through gushing now.

Just wanted to post that I have a used Phil Jones PB-100 on the way from GC, and I might go pick up a BG-100 for around the same price tomorrow locally. I really shouldn't. I have a job I can continue working from home and that should continue to be required, but you never know. Also the whole going outside for someting not 100% necessary thing kind of makes the local pickup a sketchy idea.
Can't wait to try them though. I was originally planning to use the PB-100 with my BG-75 Double 4, or with a preamp pedal. Now I'll be able to use it with the Cub too, or use just the Cub, or just the BG-75. Now I just need to get out of this apartment so I can actually turn any of them up to a respectable volume.

You’re right, I stand corrected! Yep, it was Cale he had a friendship with, not Hiatt. I wasn’t personally into those singer/songwriters as much as a kid, but have more fondness and respect for them now. John Prine is a good example of that.

There's a story about an elderly farmer who looks out his window and sees a group of men surveying on his property. I knew this lady was gonna be on here with a positive comment. Gotta admit, all those options are what tickle my fancy. What’s the point of buying a nice piece of equipment if ya can’t use it two or three times over?
