Yes, here I am "soundly browbeating" our Fearless Leader over his mere mention of the new Spark amp:
.
Hmmmm, . . . .[the Spark is] A modeling amp that works with a phone app via Bluetooth? I already gots dat wit my Rumble Studio 40, which weighs more, but I think the 10" speaker over the two 4"s would be worth it. Still, it's an intriguing gadget. Like a cross between the Rumble Studio and the Vox VX50BA! :woot:
.

Modeling & Bluetooth, like the Rumble, and lightweight, like the li'l foxy Voxy? Yeah, I really trashed it!
.
minronee, I believe you are the first I’ve seen here to show off one of these babies, [the Spark]. ... ... I brought up the [Spark] many moons ago and was soundly browbeaten by my contemporaries here. Let’s see what it does, minronmee. Have fun!

Oh, well, I stand corrected. I am no contemporary to His Excellency, Fearless Leader. I am but a humble lowly servant of His Most Esteemed Majesty, not worthy of so much as his gaze.
.
... ... There's a point where everyone wants to be a rock star (except GP, he already is [truth!]) ... ..., but I'd venture to guess most of the current Fender Stage/Studio/LT 25 combos are purchased for...fun. ... ...

Fun, you say? Point of order: I still claim back surgery recuperative therapy in my Rumble Studio 40 purchase, as even my light 36.5 lb. Rumble 500 combo was still too heavy to lift at that time. (My story and I'm sticking to it!) And the ultralight Vox VX50BA failed to deliver its creamy, high gain nutubey tone-to-die-for via its true pre-EQ only DI. Fun, you say? Temporary disability prosthetic, says I. It wasn't so much that I wanted to get it, (despite the drool of the previous year), but I felt like I had to get it for the variety of tones in, or out, of the pre- and post-EQ DIs, and for multiple ease-of-use features like Bluetooth, phone app and wi-fi (and I found the one dealer who hadn't yet invoked the new price increase!). Fun, you say??? Well, yeah, there's that. But it was NOT the primary motivation for me, nor any other owners I am conversant with. The fun is purely a side effect of the serious study and practice that such devices promote.

Can I help it if the Spark was not on my radar in March last year? No. @minronnee, I wish you all the best with yours. But try not to have too much fun, will ya? Or, at least don't mention it here. These are serious tools for serious musicians, like you and I are.

Note to self: never use the F-word in presence of G’Dog again. It triggers him into convulsions, speaking in tongues, and possibly bad gas...

Not to self: continue limiting 007’s opportunities to gaze at Fearless Leader. He doesn’t feel worthy of such a look anyway and then I don’t have to wash my hair as much...

Note to self: do give Doggie in the Window credit for the shrewd purchase of one Studio 40. It’s obviously a lot more f - - than recuperative therapy!

Cynical? Moi??
Perish the thought, sir!

I'm afraid for me, it's just not the sort of thing that fires up my imagination. Now the new Elf 8" combo or a Double4? Those are the ones I really dream of! :woot:

Kindly do not construe it as a dis on what others like. I'm happy when a musician has time to explore a new sound or a new toy!

Oh and let me tell you, my compadre, when that D4 opens up and begins kicking out the jams there’s not an eight-inch speaker in the game that can outplay it. Mmm...maybe s jacked-up Ampeg Combo with an Eminence speaker, but that’s it!

Hmm. I wonder how many 8" speakers I could fit into the Kasino cabinet. Or, better yet, PJB 4's or 5's or whatever they are.

Speaking of Eminence, I'm a little closer to mine as I raised the BA108v2 Plus another foot. Now in monitor position it's pointed at my head instead of pointed at my bum.

M, what's the tiny blue pedal to the left (looking at the picture) of your tuner? I'm gonna say a TC product, perhaps? Just curious.

That's an MXR Vintage Bass Octave. It has an additional feature of a 400 hz or 800 hz bump of up to 13 db with an internal trimpot. I've mine set at ~1-2 db at 400 hz. It works independently of the octaver, and can be run as Always On.

Boy, you can dial in as much or as little amount of bass as your heart desires with that pedal. Thanks!

But now your other cabinets feel left out. Maybe you need a credenza to elevate your entire sound to a new level. Storage for cables and whatnot in the drawers. A place to slide your pedal board underneath.

And if you’re really sharp, you’ll stick a TV in the middle with speakers on either side, a turntable on top and have it all!

We had a name for that back in the days when The Carpenters ruled the airwaves. Console.

Well, back in my day, young man, it was Ray Coniff and Lawrence Welk on an Admiral Console Stereo, modified to play a bass through it with the Ventures and Booker T ringing in my ears. I now call it tinnitus o_O:bawl:.

Thank you for the history lesson, kind sir! Ya know, my folks used to listen to Ray Conniff where my dad was the firs to teach me something musical. He explained that Ray’s male singers sang to sound like the lower-frequency sounds and the gals sang the upper-frequency sounds. Kinda cool.

The original Conniff sound was big band and chorus. Males doubled the lower pitch saxes and trombones; females the upper saxes and trumpets.. My dad, who played in a coupla local Miami big bands, loved them.
