The Combo Club

There is a saying about Winnipeg: it's a nice place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit there.

So, I am assuming that those who live there just get used to it? Or, you just have to know when to visit (early Spring/late Fall)? I have found that those who live there or, across the border in the Mid-West are very warm and loving people. Makes me wonder about the effects of climate?

Yeah, but SR, what’s the length of a Canadian early spring/late fall? Like a long weekend or something?

Welc9me, swinky-do! Here's your official Combo Club Communicator for reaching most other membersat any time, and gaining VIP Accessto all the best venues. Make sure to read and heed the enclosed instructions and don't worry about any rumors of radioactive leakage. That was just the old model. This is the new improved quantum version!

And forgive Fearless Leader for still living in the olden days of secret decoder rings and drinking Ovaltine. Make yourself at home here and on the Combo Club Wiki page, linked in my signature. .

swink, this is the guy who keeps our club running like a fine kids’ watch, 007 ‘Dog. That ring he offered you is the envy around the clubs. I’m stopped three or four times at every Fearless Leader’s Secret Tuesday Night Meeting and am asked about the craftsmanship, the fine detail, the micro laser cannons.

Definitely check out his Wiki page for the best source of info on TB. Your Ampeg picture might even be on there already.

Finally, to Snyder your question: yes, I’m always hilarious but sometimes my shyness gets in the way! :rollno:

So I’ve been fooling around with the Peavey Max110 combo. Keep in mind, I come from the land of orchestra, where everything is acoustic. I am wholly unused to relying upon perturbed electrons to provide my sound. That being said, I cranked the gain all the way to ten, sat back, and jammed out the bass line from “The Chain”...

I think the windows are fixable. Not sure of the foundation. Will play low B on the fiver tonight and see if it judders the house back into place.

You know...I am the only one who causes those hysterical rants he makes from time to time. Some call it speaking in tongue, but I’d say it’s more like speaking in elbow. No matter...that’s my guy!

The idea is that if you visit Winnipeg it seems rather unremarkable and even insufferable due to the cold in the winter and mosquitos in the summer. But if you live there you are able to unlock all of its hidden treasures.

Not my favorite city, but I still have a lot of fondness for it. Some good music came from there too, including The Guess Who and Neil Young. My aunt was in the same high school, and grade, as Burton Cummings.

The short answer is "It just depends". The longer answer is "Just long enough to wonder if you should bother"! Next question...

Funny, but I think that’s becoming everyone’s seasons. A month ago, we were still in the upper 30s and 60s for highs. Last week we got to like 92 with a heat index of 98! Where the heck did spring go? Manitoba and Winnipeg are. calling me!
