Liko, by the power vested in me by the Dinglehoffer Funeral Home, Crematory and Tax Service, outta Knucklehead, Manitoba, I hereby grant you membership # 197. Wear it with pride by placing it in your sig. Then, as you visit other threads, people will cast glances at you with great envy. Love that Markbass for us and stop by any old time you feel like it!

Manitoba is where I've lived most of my life. I miss it.

Tax service? Do you mean paying taxes? Not sure if you're asking a serious question, but I'll assume you are say yes! I think taxes are a good thing.

No, I’m just being a dope, playing off my tax service line in the previous post. My poor attempt at humor during these tumultuous times.

It seems like we here in the states are receiving more programming from Canada these days and it’s really a breathtaking place to view. Similar to the USA but even more wide open and seemingly untouched. I hope you find it to get back to Manitoba from time to time!

Ugh, a substantial payment made to me just came back as "insufficient funds." Already contacted the person who sent it to me, but any purchase is now on the back burner.
:bawl:

Ouch! Cross your fingers, RR, that’ll still be there after you get the monetary situation taken care of. That’s a pretty good price.

Another idea would be to ask each member of The Club for a shiny penny donation to aid you. I could cut you a check for $1.97 if each member contributes, including you. Let me know if you need the assistance, even though I cannot absolutely promise you that the check will clear either...Good luck!

Sorry, I wasn't paying enough attention. If things get somewhat normal I'm supposed to take my son to visit his relatives in Manitoba this summer. The best thing about Manitoba are the lakes and cabins. Hopefully he and I will do some camping.

I hope you two guys get to go some camping. If my country can survive the protests and riots without the virus spiking, then I’d say you can definitely begin packing for the trip.

Swink, congrats on your purchase. The B2 was my first Ampeg combo about a decade ago. I picked it up at a Music Go-Round for not much, as it was beaten up but fully functional. I had not read reviews or opinions at that point and, other than its colossal weight, thought it was a great buy. Now that I look back, I'd agree it was underpowered as I was using it with a community band of around 25 musicians unless I used a GK 115 cabinet with it, where I threw a lot more air out.

At home, I thought it sounded pretty nice, especially with the EQ to mess with. It was certainly built like a brick as I found out during the restoration process. I ended up selling it but then had the chance for a buy-back, which at that point I was onto lighter-weight amps. Now, I might re-consider knowing it would occupy a corner of my music room.

Hey, if you take a picture of your B2 and post it in our Combo Club I'll give you a membership number. We're just a few away from 200 members and we'd love to have you along if you're interested!

Thanks for inviting... I hope these pics are accepted as a ticket in.
This was my N.A.D. thread from last week.

swink, thanks for responding to my request and welcome to the Combo Club! You, my Ampeg-loving friend, are member #198. When he's done saving the world, G'Dog, our Sargent-at-arms, will be by to post a super-nifty club ring of which you may copy and post around town. Speaking of nifty, that is an awesome, old school rig that with four tens and a fifteen should bring either your or someone else's house down.

BTW, your B2 looks really clean. Did you buy it from an owner or a store? I'm curious. Below is the first pic I took of my B2 in the spring of 2011. The second pic was my summer of 2011 outdoor rig, complete with the 750 lb (or as it felt to my back) GK 115 cab. Again, congrats on your purchase and for joining our club!

First of all thanks for the warm welcome. To answer your question: It's an amp that went trough several hands, but it looks like it was well cared for but left in a forgotten corner over time. As for all the used items that come into my house, they get a thorough clean, this involves opening it up, turn it inside out, vacuum it, and scraping off the preservation layers of tar and nicotine...
I ordered some new plug-in casters for it, and than it will be ready for the next 2 decades of appreciation.

I started to go trough all the pages and tried to like each combo that crossed my eyes... but I had to give up for the moment.... but one day I'll get there ;)

Ah, a man after my own heart (and dust rag). That's how I found out the SLM-made Ampeg's at that time was pretty well constructed, though I would've loved it had they used plywood and not particle board for their cabinets!

Also, keep reading posts when you can. We're hilarious if anything...

My memories of Manitoba (Winnipeg) is to pack long johns in the winter and mosquito repellent in the summer ;).
