I'm pleading insanity, I tell ya! I was sound asleep this morning enjoying all that there is to a quiet Iowa Thursday morning and all of a sudden I'm accosted by thoughts of whether hollow-bodies are hollow; is semi-hollow actually hollow, and what if a Gone Plaid had a sinkhole in his backyard...would he notice?
So now you see how my AM started. Can you possibly not support me for tossing the hollow body (not mine, of course) in the bathtub with the baby? Don't worry RR, no HB was harmed in the making of the conversation.

We have yet to consider the tone of hollowbody bass filled with oobleck.
Best of all worlds. Hit it with a heavy riff and the oobleck solidifies, and so sounds like a solid body. Play soft gentle riffs, no solids, sounds hollow. Play medium, some solid, some not, sounds like a semi-hollow.
I fail to see a problem here...
Newest combo to the collection. '76 Traynor YGM-4. Two EL84s, four 12AX7s and four eight inch speakers. Bought it for my guitar but it sounds killer with my bass as well. Dead quiet at idle so it will be good for recording.
OCD-wise, they don't match.

B & W, so nice to see you again. You, my club mate, have the coolest combo of the day, absolutely no doubt. That amp has everything I’d order from the menu: lots of eights, tubes, ptp wiring (from what I can see) and a rugged, take-no-prisoners vibe. Congrats, BlacknWhite!
Hey @iagtrplyr. Thanks man. I love the old Traynor amps. Killer sound and built to last. These old bumper amps from the 70s are cool too because the top comes right off so you don't even have to pull the amp from the chasis to work on them.

They’re called Canadians, GP. The more I see and read about Traynor, the more I’m impressed. He did good.
When I "needed" a bigger amp than what I had at the time*, my first choice was Traynors. Unfortunately, the only store in the area that handled T's wouldn't budge on the price, so I wound up getting a used blue line SVT/810 rig. Never liked it. Sold it as soon as that gig ended. Shoulda bit the bullet and bought the Traynor. I'd prolly still have it.
*Kasino was in storage. It woulda done a better job than the 'Peg. I don't like 'Pegs. Tweetchie zone.

I sold my SVT and bought a Traynor. Even had some dough left over for a bass lol
That Traynor YGM-4 is really appealing! I had a Traynor YBA-1A head for four decades before selling it. It weighed a ton-plus (50-some lbs) but it sounded GREAT with both bass and guitar. IIRC it was called the poor man’s Marshall. I miss it but have no regret about selling it because I’ll never again play anything where I’d make good use of it. Somebody around Portland, OR is doing it justice, I’m sure. Even though I don’t currently have one, I remain a devoted fan of Traynor amps.

I believe you when you say you’d still probably have the Traynor. I think it’s a really cool amp.
Did you see bhendrix’s Fender Mustang tonight? It’s over in the Rumbler Club. He has it next to his new Studio 40. It’s a beautiful bass. I was just looking them up and the prices seem reasonable for the MIM.
Now that I have all this amp stuff done, it’s time to look for another bass. I’m scouring the earth for a lefty short scale first and then go from there. I found a Gibby EB-0 for fifteen hundred that looked beautiful, but I haven’t set my price range yet.
Since were probably the only two here, I wanted to show this portable stage set up for a country group in our downtown tonight. We were stopped at a crosswalk right at the stage and I had my wife take a picture. It looks bigger then it really was. Do you think you’ve still played smaller stages then this?
I wish I could give you dimensions, but the tent it was under wasn’t anything gigantic. I was thinking like a quartet with drums, bass, guitars. I’d be interested in your thoughts.
