Doc, you're reading my mind again, but I'll go you one better. Even though I've whined like a baby the past year or two about arthritis slowly creeping in, I still tend to pick up a bass cold and start playing without hardly a warmup. I may stretch my fingers a bit, but it's usually right to work and after a while, they loosen them up. If anyone represented "Do as I say, not as I do," I'd like to meet him or her.
What was it, Red, that seemed to be the trouble? I hear ya, and mentioned that same thing after first playing through the PJB with my Beatle bass, but now that the speakers have bloomed (yes, RR, I typed bloomed), the two get along like long-lost buddies. Tinker away, but also wait it out a couple of weeks and then see what they sound like together.
PS: if it doesn't work, slap some red paint on it and give it to RodRy as a gift. He's right now holding his hands out.

I recently almost bought the same bass, right handed of course. It was selling locally with a red tort or red pearl pickguard. Looked amazing. Already have a PBass though with upgraded electronics so I couldn't justify another for aesthetics only. Was seriously considering putting my black and rosewood one back to stock and selling it though for that blue.
Is the Player a shorty? I don’t speak Fender...
It's full scale. That blue with the maple just looks so good though, I'd like to think I'd deal with the shoulder pain and the hand stretch.
Edit to add: If it sounded good and the neck was nice.

That blue, to my old peepers, is hypnotic. Every time I see it I think, yes, that would be nice. Then these stores toss out a reduced price and force you to decide by a set time. Oh, the hunt is delicious!

No, Recon, it is not. No short scale Fenders for lefties. Plus, I don’t usually like wider necks than my Jazz and obviously this one is a bit. The neck seems fine though as long as it’s baby-bottom smooth along the edges. I love the simplicity and the tone isn’t too shabby either.

Yeah, it was on my list though towards the bottom. I’ve read where owners are quite happy with the bass, though it sounds as if it’s in the violin bass sonic wheelhouse. My question is how the heck do you transport it to the show? I’d there a gig bag or case for the thing?
Just hook it over your shoulder, neck down. Hands free and everything!!!!
