I checked the amp’s diagram to find out it’s a straight shot from the bass input jack to the amp’s line out. Yuck! All that great tone from the preamp was equivalent to using the spur route on our U.S. Interstates in order to avoid the upcoming city. But I wanted to drive through downtown Voxville!

I did it boys. When I had the volume low I didn’t notice too much but when I turned my amp up some man the evenness of my B string with the other strings was awesome. I actually was able to turn my amps bass up a little and gotta freaking awesome growl and probably just drove my family nuts for like an hour lol.

also cats are so underrated. I have two cats and a dog...my dog on the other hand got sprayed by and killed a skunk at like 11:30 last night...my sleep wasn’t the best giving dog baths after midnight. View attachment 3912849

Hmm, seems like this may be a good add to such combos as hmm...maybe 2 fours?

My combo has a "Low Cut" button that seems to me like it may be some sort of high-pass filter. And a Limiter that I'm thinking is their term for compression. They are knobs I read about, set to where I liked them, then forgot about for the last decade or so.

Quite a handsome gadget. I often find pedals to be ugly, so this is a nice change.

RR, that combo lived a long, full, productive life. Nothing to be down about, celebrate the length of time that thing was around. I'm guessing at least through three series of combos, and the good news is there may be a replacement coming out his fall that'll trip thy trigger. Of course, it'll be $1,750!

Stimulus checks be danged, there was one bass left and Chicago Music Exchange made me and offer I couldn't refuse. That, plus I'm gonna be mowing lawns and doing honey-do jobs for the next...365 days, so says the loan contract. I do love #2 though.

Great post, Stateside. Trust me, if you were sitting opposite of me you'd play plenty of clams! The weird thing is
I don't feel as lost grabbing a righty, but for me, it's so much easier fretting wit my right hand, which I write with. When I was a kid my dad taught me to throw and bat as a lefty because he was, though I eat and write with my right hand, and when my brother and sister used to play "Band" down the basement, I always held the broom as a lefty. The Defense rests...

Thanks, R112. I say whenever you can get the spouse seal of approval you have no choice but to go for it. And I'm relying on my buddies from Fender to serve me up a nicely-built instrument too. I was told once by someone on the manufacturing side that lefty models tend to have greater detail put to them because of the fact there's fewer of them made. No guarantees, but I never owned a baseball glove that I didn't love, or for that matter, any Fender/Squier bass or guitar either!

I just read through that this morning. I think it will take more than G-Dog to turn these people around.

It is not unlike our current state of affairs. People come to their opinions in different ways. At least with preferences to the looks and sounds of basses and amps, it is relatively harmless.

They have their thread and we have ours. I would not expect them to welcome my challenges any more than I would welcome theirs, here. So, to each his/her own. Let's just keep it civil and vote with your wallet IMHO.

I could see you flirting with a 200C if you once again desired the fifteen experience, La Contessa. Otherwise, you've got enough firepower to begin your own sonic war so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
