And nice to see and read you, Recon! So tell us, did the docs mention your chances of getting the virus again, and if so, what’s the turnaround time?

Heard today out in our hallway that our governor is not closing our schools no matter what. Our principal said she would shut down one of our three classroom wings with the virus and the other 2/3 would keep right on going.

We’ll see what happens if it’s the adults who are all sick; we know there are little to no subs available right now.

No matter, free early eighties Peavey combos at M’s laundromat for the taking IF you can carry it to your chariot!

Alas, no mention of reinfection; if this bug knows what’s best for it, it’ll skedaddle on down the road. I beat it once, I’ll beat it again...

Did anyone here follow, or contribute, to the 'dad bass' thread? I did a few times. Fender Ps got a lot of votes, as did Ibanez. Some folks here may appreciate it. I think combos were mentioned too as the preferred method of application.

Anyway, I'm mostly posting this as a segue for a joke I told that didn't get many likes. I'm hoping folks here might like it. I stole it from someone else. Here it goes:

Woman: I have a 'daddy fetish. '
Man: You're in luck champ, I just threw some burgers on the grill.

Not far off! Enjoying my Campari in the foothills of the Italian Alps. It's what I call civilized!

Speaking of secret bass lessons, I signed up for the summit. I've enough crisps on my plate I won't be buying the package. I see Ariane Cap is one of the instructors.

Is it just for home practice or do you want to use it a band setting? Also, what genres do you play? Most all combos I know of can give you a clean, transparent tone, but will have their own characteristics depending on brand.
A little more info will help folks give you a better recommendation.

Thanks! I want it to maybe be able to gig, but it's not essential as I don't anticipate gigging for a few years. I mostly play Classic Rock/Prog/Metal. My biggest bass inspirations are Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, JPJ, John Whetton, and John Entwhistle.

I am using the Orange Crush 50 right now. I like it, but it kind of does one sound really well but that's it. It's a sound I like, but I am looking for some tonal variety. Looking to spend less than $1,000.

I've eyed that beauty before. I'm trying to avoid buying anymore Hofners, even though I'd love to do such! I ask myself "how many mortgage payments is that bass worth?" and then the GAS disappears.

Yesterday was NBD courtesy of Big Brown. My wish from the '60's for a P, finally came true. After new pick guard, new strings and a set up, here she is (the noon day sun did not show the true burst). Just getting used to the neck and full scale. Sounds sweet through the Rumble Studio 40 Combo...
