Many, many mango seasons ago I loaned my 66 Gibby EB-3 to a guy who played lefty. IIRC, he flipped the strings 'til he got his own then flipped 'em back b4 he returned it.
With my THUNDERBIRD I set the neck pup full, the bridge pup 0, And tone at 7. And there they stay. The knobs are a PITA to see any way, so I pretty much leave 'em be.
One thing I've realized after playing bass for 53+ years is that the audience only pays any attention to us if we eff up. Or dance like Verdine White.
ADDENDUM: Or eff up trying to dance like Brother Verdine.
I was all good until I got to the addendum. I just wanna know the show where you danced like Verdine White!
Following up, I found a nice little MB150E-112 on Reverb today!Funny, the plans are:
1. Call amp repair shops locally, then the GK factory about repairs.
2. Found some on Reverb & eBay that range from $500-$900 (the only E model is in Poland)
3. Asked for combo ideas here and at Mediocre Bassist club. Making a list, probably a spreadsheet.
4. Have a harmonica, can annoy, but cannot yet play.
And this one seems to be at a price I can reach!
It's "local pick-up only" and in California.
Also found out that local amp repair techs are not "essential workers" so they cannot work on my amp until they are called back in.

An idea! Talk to the GK owner and see if he’d be willing to meet in eastern Colorado on a Saturday afternoon for a sass perilla and a trade; cold hard cash for his combo. Just wear a mask...
Blasphemy, I declare! Without music, we’re all living on some dumb spinning rock trying to survive an even dumber pandemic. I mean, what’s the point if there isn’t Steely Dan to wake you up in the morning and Crosby, Stills, and Nash to tuck you in at night?
Without music, particularly bass, we wouldn’t have a clue about one other like we do. No G’Dog, GP, or even RR? My life would be empty without M, Doc, PT, and all you wonderfully nice people.
And don’t get me started playing and recording without my California Connect, SR! We’ve built quite the camaraderie to where we’re willing each other our P-basses, even though we know we can’t play the other’s.
So don’t come telling me is non-essential. As I prepare to enter Covid Country (school) next week, music is gonna be one of my lifesavers!

Music brings people together. That's not what most are inclined to do right now owing to the Thing That's Going Around. To hear what tell, anyone who used the loo in CBGB in the early 80s is immune to everything.
Oh, trust me, I don't believe that music/musicians are non-essential but there are obviously many in positions of authority who do feel that way. Besides, in the words of Martin Mull, "If we weren't s'posed to play loud, God wouldn't have given us amps." Especially Combos.
I like the idea, but I'm not optimistic about his willingness.

When I grow up, I want to be one of those bassists who doesn’t twitch a whisker and just lays down a killer groove.
Well, I've got at least 1/2 of that down.

"Killer groove" is to me listening to Art Tatum. Atomic clocks sync their rhythm to Art Tatum. I mean, how is keeping time like that even real?
Parts for my 1st Build finally arrived. Here they are in position. Time to mark and rout for neck, controls and pups. Wood will remain unstained. Sealer will amberize it a bit, clear nitro will be brushed on. Test scraps of the maple front and Mahogany back look great this way.
