The Combo Club

After lurking on the posts from the Combo Club for quite a while, I respectfully request a number. I have my trusty old Peavey TKO 80 with my brand new GK Legacy 112, along with my Fender Precision and Hofner 500/1, in the aattached photo.

FARBass, welcome aboard! I’ll be on my my computer later tonight and will make sure to score you a brand new membership number. Thanks a lot for your interest, that’s quite a formidable setup you have there!

Thank you! I just hope I can use it in public some time soon!!

You can begin using it in your sig...right...now! You are officially the 210th member of this fantastic club of combo-loving bass players. Do us a favor, and if you run into anyone who you think would meet our simple criteria and add something, please invite them to join. We'd love to have 'em. Thanks, #210!

FINALLY :hyper: - my band just got booked for a Halloween party gig - but still with the caveat of things being ok with pandemicmania. One hour set with two other bands, but appears we'll be last to perform (headliners! :D) Something to look forward to! Fingers crossed.

Kind of a fitting date for a 2020 gig. Got an orange amp?

I know, right? But hey, I'll take anything we can get! Small festival type setup on about 4-5 acres - bandstand setup is to be on open end of a barn, so covered in case of bad weather. Family/kid friendly event during the day and older folk with adult beverages in the evening. 1st band at 3pm, 2nd band at 6pm and we play at 9pm - DJ in between sets. I'm jazzed as it's been sometime since I played a set in front of live people!:bassist: Heck, at this point, I'll play in front of dead people!:roflmao:

Got an orange amp?
No, but I know someone who does?;) And it's quite the "terror"! :D

b, congratulations, that’s the best news we’ve gotten here since...well, it’s been a long time. That schedule is primo, especially if the weather is nice.

So tell us what weaponry you plan on bringing to the gig. I’m assuming PA support. What ya thinking?

I'll be sporting the Jazz and the Precision - through my Rumble stack! There will be PA we will utilize but we won't know much about it until day of event. We are a true "jam band", but may have a guest singer join us for some cover tunes (SRV, David Allen Coe, and even a couple Rush tributes!) We're just keeping our fingers crossed that it can proceed as planned!:hyper:

What's your fav settings for those genres?

Hey folks! I miss ya’ll tons. I’m in between taking our the garbage and writing names on popsicle sticks (don’t even ask) and thought I’d reply to b’s query. Keep the club rolling everyone, you’re doing great!

b, I currrntly am using an acoustic setting that with the Rogue, sounds double bassy. I also have to give s shout out for my British Clean (Hiwatt) because it can do no wrong if you’re looking for clean and full. I’ve enjoyed the TV amp with a 15, but the P doesn’t dig it as much. I’m thinking of an additional set of presets just for the Precision. It’s a different animal in the kids and my settings for the the jazz and Violin bass don’t always jive.

Please allow us all to live vicariously through on the night of your gig. :hyper:

Our group is booked for 9/18 Friday night fish fry at the Ft. Pierce American Legion. If it happens.

That’s great, GP. Here, I was gonna joke that bhendrix should check their road cases for you hiding in one of them. Now you sound like you’ve got a little public playing time. Tell us how it goes when (not if) it happens!
