Resolved the puzzle of how to simultaneously monitor my bass and a backing track while recording only the bass, and figured this out without the Google machine.
TL;DR version — DI goes the DAW (in my case a PreSonus USB 96), and the DAW is the headphone monitor. The trick is (in Win10) to set the DAW as both the Input and Output in the Sound properties. Metronomes, backing tracks etc. played on the computer will come through through the headphones and will not be recorded.
The boring part — completed my final video of 2020
on to 2021!

I have a weird feeling about this.
As if I'm going back to the 80's where they wrote "TURBO" behind everything that was produced. Is history repeating itself with "COMBO"?
The last time I checked it was:
If it's possible to arrive at a gig with just a HEAD and no CAB, you don't have a COMBO. (Exempt B-15 by it's integrated amp)
Or have I misunderstood the whole combo concept?
Would that be this "combo"?

It’s an interesting point. We’ve discussed this in the club before, in connection with the Ampeg Portaflex series. I believe the conclusion was that if the amp is mounted to the cab, it fulfils the requirements for a combo, at least in theory. There are several combos where the amp itself is removable, for instance the TC Electronic Combo 450, or some of the older Promethean systems. That’s no different in principle from the Genzler Magellan, although the Genzler looks decidedly less «comboesque», if that’s a word.

Yes, I have to think that after looking at the Wiki and recalling earlier threads on the subject that the Magellan 350 MG12T-V COMBO, is not, in fact, a combo.
Of course, I'm not a hard-liner on this, and am willing to entertain other dissenting arguments.

No, the fact that the head is physically connected to the cab makes it a combo.

So I think I might have two combos: A Rumble 25 Combo amp and also a Rumble 500 Head and a Rumble 1x15 cab. Since the cab has the four cups on the top to "lock in" the head, would that also be considered a combo? I am thinking in same terms as an Ampeg Portaflex head and cab as combo.... two separate units paired together....
Edited to add: Maybe we refer to an actual combo (i.e., Rumble 25) as a "Combo" amp with a capital "C" and two units that do not come as one but matched up as a "combo" with a lowercase "C".

But, Roly Poly, don't forget about your "artifical" DIY Orange Obi-Wan 300 combo, which was accepted.
Plus, FL said he's inclined to accept . my Bassman head & cab, . maybe since it actually has a bolted connection like the Ampeg fliptops. Magnetic connections? I dunno, not as strong a case, y'know?
So, there's plenty of room to play the devil's avocado on this subject! At what point does, or should, FL recuse himself from these cases? And if he does, who's next in the line of succession to make the call? The CC Treasurer? The CC Asst. to the Regional Mgr.? Who?
