The Combo Club

Wow, you really see a busy old geezer. 50s...I’ve got undies that old. Never mind.

Please take a pic of your new garage door, but don’t forget to wheel out your Kustom Kasino for ambiance. If you can’t do that, how about a pic of your D-4 combo? If you do, I will too.

Pink Floyd...nice.

Finally, pray tell what you’re looking at, bass wise. Traditional or modern? Grab a Precision, RR, and you’ll never look back.
:laugh:You keep trying to give away my Kasino. It's mine! Mine, I tell you.:smug:

No one’s ever taking your Kasino, GP, and I’ll do my best to make sure that doesn’t happen. I hope Rod takes a pic of his PBJ combo in front of his garage door because I want to as well.

Glad to see ya. Haven’t seen your Hawaiian short lately. Of course, I’ve been AWOL too.

I'm going to do some customization of my HCT tonight. I'm skipping Halloween, but also having beers tonight because I have so much marking to do tomorrow. I will post pictures later!

Have fun, Doc Intrepid. I hear ya, I’m down to 15 assessments of the 46 I’ve started with this morning with another 14 that haven’t been turned in yet. That and lesson plans and maybe I can play Sunday afternoon.

I need to work on my Jazz and tomorrow would be a good day to do so. What are you doing to your Hofner? My action is too high and needs to be brought down some. Just need some time.

I'll post some after pics when I get it done. Most changes will be apparent, but I'll specify the changes.

We had a gig last night(Ft. Pierce Am. Legion)and I was wearing one of my numerous Hawaiian shirts. It happened but no pics.:sorry:
We also picked up a new one(12/6)today. 'Bout dang time.

No worries about my nabbing other people's property. I don't do that sort of thing, and I have the combos I want, without GAS-ing for any more right now. ;)

Today, we have snow on the ground, gusts up to 40 mph, and bitter cold. So no amps outside. I do have to go out and drain our rain barrel before it freezes solid and bursts. I also need to paint some car parts in preparation for putting the rear brakes together on my 96 Saturn. New shop door at least means the dinky furnace won't have to work as hard keeping the building warm (52 F).

Then I have to get back here to clean the cat fountain, and log into an online game session with friends at 1:00.
Busy geezers r us!
:roflmao:

What strings are you using? The silks look like my Pyramid Gold strings.
What is the advantage of the pickup surround?
The teacup knobs look really good!

The strings are Hofner Contemporary roundwounds. They are cheap and seem to do the trick.

The pickup surround is mostly for aesthetics. Nonetheless, it does also provide more range as a thumb rest. I haven't plugged it in yet. After I did the work I grabbed my 68 instead. I love that old bass. I will try it today, though. I am a little worries, because the ground wire is under the tailpiece and the screw its under is stripped. So I am wondering if the wire has contact with any metal.

Replying to myself. Here's a pic of the shop with the new front door, and newer LED solar light over it. Gotta put the mailbox back on.

And the old front door.

As can be seen, the old door frame was pretty much rotting apart. Wood door frames in concrete walls don't hold up so well. The new door has a composite frame. I really like how the new door window recalls the glass block window that I put in the front.

Needs painting, and that's on the list for next year.

Looks real nice, RR. At least you got outside to do some things this weekend. I just finished all my work and now it's too cold to go out and frolic. So I might as well update my membership records, see what's up in the club, score watch the NFL games, and maybe go work on my J-bass. It's time to have fun!

Yep, my photo was taken today between snow flurries. Cold and windy today.

I'll probably play some J-bass today myself. :bassist:
