Wow, a blast from the past. Though we didn't sell Bose, the audio store I worked in back in the early '80s got a pair of 901s in on trade. We fired them up, first without the EQ and then with. Personally, I didn't like them either way, but without that exaggerated EQ box, they were absolutely horrible.
Mayne Phil took Dr. Bose's basic principle, but that's where the likenesses end. The quality of PJB parts is top-notch, unlike the 901s cheap paper speakers. Had Phil, who worked for either Boston Acoustics or Allison Acoustics for a time I believe had built the 901s, then I'd say they would've kicked tail and taken no prisoners doing it. Okay, PJB fan boy is off the soapbox.
The lower 60s, huh? Have fun with that. I'm already wearing my Bears scarf and stocking cap.
Off to bed, folks. It was fun perusing the pages tonight. Keep up the good conversation, everyone. 
Nah, it'll prolly get down to around 40ish. Still with pretty high humidity that soaks right through clothes. I'll still take it over snow, though.
BTW, we are currently using 2 BOSE L1's daisy chained for PA.
73 and 15% when I ran about 13:30. Amazing.
Ok...couldn't resist. The seller accepted my offer of $75 so I'll be arranging pickup probably this coming weekend. I'll have to determine what the issue is. Could be speaker, crossover, who knows. But for that price, I'll tackle it and see what I can figure out. Stock pic below, actual photos to follow as I progress.

I worked for a store that sold Bose. I fell in love when I took the Bose eq out of circuit, subbed in a semipro parametric, and played around a bit.

I originally purchased the 102p combo but it had a busted speaker so I returned it and picked this up. The tonal difference is huge on the low end, Marcus had them give his line "more booty" as stated in an interview he did. The addition of the ultra low eq knob made a huge difference and the low end clarity is massive. He also had the mid scoop knob and low pass filters tweaked to his taste.420, you've got a lot of fun-looking toys to play with and enhance your sound. I've always wondered what does the Marcus Miller mojo offer the paying customer that the standard-issue Markbass doesn't? I'm guessing preamp differences in maybe tonal options and features? Just curious as I've not played through that line before.

He bought it new a few years ago at GC. it's not at all beat, one little knick in the tolex that I only found while giving it a good wipe down. Other than that it just had some dust to knock off. It's my second BA combo but the first was a few years ago and I think it was either the single 8 or single 10, I can't remember which. He listed this at 250 and I didn't even bother haggling the price as it was already a steal.

That's cool about the Marcus Miller changes. Is there more high end "sparkle" with the bigger lows?
Retirement opened my opportunity to play the bass again. Reinventing my life as I wish it to be also means a lot of woodshedding. My old band's demo is on a cassette. That's how long I carried both the bass and the intent of the bass through life. This is important to me, and that's how I found my way to Music Theory for the Bass Player.
I bought my bass clef Real Book when finding a source for a Real Book felt kind of illegal. Because it was, actually
My takeaway from back then is Ray Brown said learn every song in the Real Book. And while I understand what he's saying, and why that's important, I had to first deal with the fact I needed the basics of music theory nailed down on my fretboard.
Looked around at "the local scene" here on the Isle of Everywhere and made a fair guesstimate of how much sonic firepower I really need. A PJB BG-400 stacked with a C4 means I've got everything covered. (But hey, not turning down an Orange Terror and a PJB C8.)
Owing to circumstance as things settled in, I found myself with my BG-400 in a different country for a bit. The Elf seemed to me a perfect solution to run the C4 I had with me. And by cracky it works great. With the BG-400 back with me, snagged a PJB Cab 27 for the Elf. Certainly the Trace 2x8 cab would be crackerjack, and it's made for the Elf. So I didn't.
Saw another Cab 27 on a 48 hour sale somewhere and snapped it up.
That's two full rigs and the BA108v2+ as I batten down for another round of MTftBP in January. Maybe get some reasonable chops? And enough firepower for any gig in a time of very few gigs.
The Sixth Edition Real Book kind of sucks (to me). It may be right (technically), it's legal, but the first thing I did was open to Green Dolphin Street and it ain't there. My Fifth Edition stays

And had to look. Because. Science or something. The head for the song is titled as Green Dolphin Street in the 5th (illegal) edition, and does not appear by either title in the 6th edition. It's one of those songs I remember learning and decided it is worth learning again. It's kind of down there on my list of bass things to do right now.

I didn't know the title 'til I asked Prof. Google. And I don't have "The Real Book"*. I've known and played GDS for ~50 years. IDK if I've ever seen the sheet music.
