Yeah, the little heads are cool, too, especially the Rumble 800 HD! But, it assumes there will be cab(s) available to plug it into, or else you gotta carry your own cab(s) in addition to the head. Heaven forfend you should arrive without one or the other. The all-in-one combo is a sure thing!

The Rumble 500 combo totally is, indeed, a great option for "just jamming with a few other people" anywhere, anytime. Sure, it starts with just a couple acoustic guitars and, maybe, a cajon, and you gotta crank your R500c way down. No probs. It still sounds great.
But, before you know it, the guitarists bring their Strats, Teles or LPs with all kindza pedals and 100 watt amps and there's keyboard(s), maybe even horns(!) and a full drum kit! Wha-a-a-at!?! Then you're glad you've got 350 watts on tap in your R500c and can still definitely hang. Things then get really serious?!? You're ready. Get an 8 ohm extension cab, like the Rumble 210 or 115, to pull the full 500 watts outta the R500c and ... ...

Believe I'm gonna try and get by with my Rumble 100v3 chained to the Studio 40. Just changed my battery in the Stingray and Boom. Gonna hook the 40 back up and see what I get. Also, I'm in love with the $549 short scale Stingray and think maybe that's a better idea then a huge rig for home only use.
Anyway, the R100 sounded good after the battery charge so I'll let ya know the improvement after connecting the S40 to it.

I played through a Rumble 500 at open mics. It would give you what you want in a basement and in any venue.

SM, for what you're talking about with basement playing, you might even want to look at the Rumble 200. A big 15" speaker with enough power to bother the residents upstairs. But if you have your heart set on the 500, go for it! And when you blow that GC card, take a pic of your conquest and post it here with a request to join our merry band of marauders. Some good-looking bass player who pretends to lead said bunch will be on to honor your request.
While I've never had the surgery mentioned, I did chop off the tips of the first two fingers of my fretting hand once. Thought at the time I might have to switch to drums. Thanks to a skillful and understanding surgeon, I was back to (trying) playing the bass in about 10-12 weeks. It was extremely painful at first, but I was back to doing gigs within a few weeks. Stay persistent my friend...

I was thinking about running four of them. (Not really). Two double stacks side by side for 600 watts into four 15s like a MASSIVE modular 4 x 10 cab. Using the send and receive jacks it would be easy: just 3 instrument cables and I’m done!
...THEN I thought: what about doing that with four BA210s?
That would be just over 1000 watts into eight 10s. It would be the EXACT same thing as an SVT stack through a fridge. -ducks-
I have to think of something though because I’m SURE the Black Crowes will be calling me to go on tour with them soon...

I think Ampegs are set up the same. JimmyM posted a video in which Ampeg said it could be done.
I’m not sure about the BA line in particular, but that will have to be an experiment for another TBer because there’s no WAY I need any more BA115s!
The Kasinos were made to operate as many modules(extension cabs)as one could get powered[120v-each had an amp inside that needed to be plugged in], all controlled from one head. They used a weird cable with 3 curved terminals to send the signal to the 'slave' cabs. I'd always meant to get at least one 2x15 or 4x12 cab to add to it(this was back in 70-71 when I was younger and dumber). Not that I need it now, or then, but it woulda been cool to have. Every so often, I search to see if any are for sale but I doubt if any still exist.
