Okay.
So my stock is 8 ohms and so is the Celestino in the link so it would be an appropriate (though expensive) fix and I theoretically should not lose any volume.
Where could I find the specs on the stock speaker such as weight?
It’s not in the BA manual.

The audition went great!
It was really one of those things that was like we had played together before!
They offered me the position and gave me the option to think about it.
I accepted on the spot!

No deep specs on the BA speaker, but you might find an appreciation thread where they take things like that apart. As far as volume goes with each speaker, it’ll depend on each speaker’s SPL (sound pressure level) rating. The Celestion maybe more efficient and thus get you more volume. On the other hand, it could be less efficient and not play as loud.

I can tell you this without hearing them, they’re gonna sound very different from each other. The Celestion brand has a distinct sound to them and I haven’t a clue if you’d like it in an American Ampeg. If it’s a cheap replacement, go ahead and experiment (my fave thing to do with my $), but if it’s gonna cost you some coin, I wouldn’t do it if I already like the tone. Buyer beware!

Great news on the board that was fun to read. My news: I bought a new Furman power strip tonight for me low-budget studio. That’s it. I’ll be putting it together over break which will be happening in exactly two weeks!

After mulling it over(not Martin Mull), it occurs to me that if you replace the speaker in one amp, you can compare the sound of the 2 amps in an A/B configuration. Then rate/write them up. It's what you should do for your Combo Club hermanos y hermanas. At the very least, you'll wind up with an extra speaker in case one blows.

From modding basses, I understand that this would be the situation where I take a $400 amp, put $150-$200 into it and make it a $200 amp...unless it were easily reversible.
It won't be happening any time soon so I'll have time to think about it.
I also realized from moving the amps to and from the audition that 45 pounds is really not too bad. The load in/load out process was not hard at all even with both amps and both basses. I could move everything by myself and do it quickly. Nothing was overly heavy and there weren't too many parts.

Went to GC to try out some smaller amps since my last attempt to purchase a small bedroom/practice/travel amp resulted in me bringing home an Ampeg BA210V2. I considered trading it in, I considered a 25watt or 40watt. I considered a rumble 100... I played a bunch and came to the conclusion that for the price I paid for my BA210 I can't justify not keeping it/playing it/ dealing with the extra size and weight. I'm a generally healthy youngish dude in a physical career field and when I travel it's in a 3 row SUV... I will give credit to the small rumbles though... the 40watt and 100watt sound bigger than they are and bigger than their equivalent competition. I had the Acoustic 30 or 40 watt not long ago and I don't think I would purchase another after hearing the rumbles. I could see myself getting a 500 or stage 800 in the future. in the mean time I am in love with my BA. It's been moved to my living room so I can play while my kids run around and wifey crochets around the Christmas tree. I like that I can play clean with zero pedals and it really lets me hear my basses natural tone.

I liked how it worked at practice. I had my Ibanez SR300EB and the singer's mike in it. I left the Acty behind, as I had a 40 minute walk each way with everything else. We weren't as far as halfway up and cut it with the four guitars - two electric. The guitar channel has settings for acoustic and electric. I switched it to electric and wound up the active Ibanez to give a slight overdrive. Good and gnarly.

I knew I wouldn't get deep thump from it and didn't try to. I put the bass knob to 11 o'clock and got a great attack. It will be what I hoped for busking and I will try it as a tweeter box for the Mark 121 stack.

Yeah...it always seems we have to end our reviews with “for a battery powered amp,” but still, it’s nice to go to an acoustic jam and play bass instead of an acoustic guitar.
Plus, my Cube EX makes for a great low volume practice amp.

Friday morning practice with the Cube.
I am a full fledged member of the band and am now on the other side of the audition fence. The drummer, guitarist and I are auditioning male vocalists that can play guitar on Monday.

A surprise pivot to some Gen X music has us playing:
1. Plush-Stone Temple Pilots
2. Gel-Collective Soul as well as
3. American Band-Grand Funk Railroad
4. Born to be Wild-Steppenwolf

After the holidays, back to practice with the female vocalist to add the Zep back in with:
1. Dyer Maker
2. The Rover
3. Whole Lotta Love and
4. Immigrant song then more texture with
5. Jolene-Dolly Parton but rocked out following the model of some younger groups
And then comes the real fun:
6. Going Under-Evanescence-I get to play the 5er on this one!
Low B all over the place!

To keep us on topic: next practice I’m going to go with a single BA115 but DI through the PA. I will probably end up leaving a BA115 at the drummer’s house...which is the main reason I went with two combos instead of a head and two cabs.

Anywhoodles, I get the impression you’re all burned out so I hope this gives you a little break.

I wouldn't call it 'Good for a battery amp'. I'd call it 'A great 12w amp'.

I keep forgetting that the BA210 is $100 more than the BA115 meaning that your deal was that much more insane.
...but we know for sure it’s happened at least once...

A lot of things will have shifted when we “get back.” I think there will be good opportunities after all of these frustrations.
