Would we call the Marshall MS-4 and -2 comboes? They are moulded as a two-in-one but are made to look like they are aren't.

I currently have Ampeg BA108 v2 and am interested in the Ampeg BA110 v2. Looking for some feedback. Only used for a home practice. Looking for a little more bite. Already have a few 410c and want a small practice amp with more punch than the BA108. Is there a big difference between the two and is it worth spending an additional $100.00 for a 10" vs an 8". Also curious about the scrambler feature on the BA110
It’s the damn job, ‘Rambler. That, plus this board has blown up with lots of good chatter! “Miss a little and you miss a lot” has never been truer.

G’Dog, I always knew you were fan of artistic content and, yes, your eye caught the fine work of my better half (not just a phrase, but a proven fact).
She quickly worked it up prior to my first jetting to Ohio a few years ago so I wouldn’t misplace my music book with everyone else’s. I’ve got quite a few of those little one-offs around the house.

I had a BA-112(v2?) for a while. Like my mid 70's blue line SVT/810, and after much tweaking to no avail, I traded the 112 for something I could use. I just am not a fan of the Gibby/'Peg combination. And, no, I ain't buyin' a P!
AFA moving to your neck of the woods, I spent one night in Davenport-or maybe it was Bettendorf?-in '72. Long, kinda weird story. I do however, spend time in Ft. Madison on the Virtual Rail Fan site watching trains and eagles go by. There seems to be some sorta white stuff on the ground-and in the air. Too white for sand, any ideas what it might be?

Finally, might you be talking about snow? I was out shoveling it off the driveway just yesterday. Ya have to acquire a taste for it, my Floridian friend. After almost six decades, I’m still working on that acquired taste. Bring on spring already.

I was playing with a band(?)in East Moline. We did the cocktail hour. Another band did nights. Their keyboard man got busted 'harvesting' some Brand X. They asked if anyone played keys. I do/did some so they had me sit in. I crashed with their band somewhere across the river. Their guy got bailed out so I went back to our band's home base(Kewanee, IL),

Hey there, JPS. Welcome to Combos in Paradise. You ask quite an interesting question and I hope someone with experience with the BA-110 v2 offers their two cents.
Remember, everything you read here is an opinion, but we try to help out as best we can. So here goes with my thoughts.
It’s a tough call, especially since I get why you want the amp. It will give you a little more headroom but not any more volume compared to the 108. You’ll hear more bass due to the larger driver, but I do t think it’s gonna be night and day. I agree with you, for jamming with buddies, it’ll sweat less than the little one.
If your monetary limit is two bills then I’d look around and see what’s out there unless you demand that Ampeg tone. I’d even look used because I’d rather own the BA-112 v2 with the 12” driver and 75 watts you’ll appreciate during your jam.
Finally, as far as the Scrambler is concerned, some love it but my jury is still out. I’ve never been able to get a decent tone from it (I own the SCR-DI pedal). To me, it doesn’t sound realistic and even though Fender’s OD isn’t perfect, I think it’s more to my liking. I’m not a big distorted tone guy, and admit the Scrambler is an acquired taste. Try it before you give the store your money.
In conclusion, yes, the 110 will be a step up from the 20-watter and will give you more bass, but it’s not a night and day difference and, to me, the Scrambler isn’t worth the extra cost. Me? I’d searched for a nicely-used Ampeg combo (V1 would be fine) with 50-100 watts with at least a 112.

I am certain we did determine the Combo / Not Combo status of the Vox Mini Superbeetle, but for the life of me I can't recall what we decided? Because from here the combined statement of the Vox and an Acinonyx together looks like a lot of fun. So much of the Mini Superbeetle falls in the if only, if only end of the pool, though. I see none of the seepage from the if only culvert in the Acinonyx. Hipshot bridge, Hipshot tuning machines, Nordy custom single coils <scrim smack>
If I’m not mistaken, the Super Beetle was placed in the “Separates” category, thus wiping out any hope I can post its pic as my avatar...thanks ‘Dog!
Actually, I agree with the call because I’ve used the amp head to power my Fender Rumble cab.

Now if you’re thinking of buying that micro-rig, go for it. If you dig the Ampeg sound with a strong hint of SVT coming from those 210s, then you’ll like it (though I think it’s pricey).
In the other hand, if you’re thinking of adding fuel to the is-it-a-combo-or-not dialogue, keep moving fella, there’s nothing to see here. It’s separates, and I know because I owned the black tolex rig.
Acoustic suspension cab so without the vent you’ll get tight, punchy mid bass but without the deep bass. It also doesn’t play real loud (perfect for home or acoustic guitar practice). I do like thf red but I can’t decide if I love it or not. Would I be tearing off its covering in six months and longing for black? Maybe.

Less now that I know it's not ported. I was interested in it enough that I thought I'd like to hear it. Probably just for the looks though. I'm a sucker for a red head. Maybe I'll test the Ampeg waters with another amp when it's time. I'm fine for now though with my BG400, Rumble 40, and Double 4. Next for me would be to try a bigger Rumble and add a C4 cab to my BG400 I think.
Don’t get me wrong, it was a fun rig to have, especially its keen looks. But after playing through it for a while the missing low bass/volume made me less interested. And don’t get me started with the fan noise, it’s legendary and not in a good way.
If you’re searching far that sound, I’d recommend either one of their combos or perhaps their Portaflex PF-350 amp and a cab you like. It offers more power than the 150-watt micro and uses the exact same preamp. Also, it’s Class D so there’s no fan. Ya might keep the idea in the back of your mind.

You're right; I hadn't thought that far. I wouldn't want even to bi amp with it. My MS-2 gave me a gag at open mic, when I walked in with my cycle hat and said had brought my Marshall. They were 'How did you bring it on your bike?'Combo, but not a bass combo.
