Nope. Forrest Sherman class...USS Barry DD933.

USPS contracts with FedEx to use their planes to transport all kinds of mail, but we still process it ourselves.
I used to work for a contract mail hauler: Pat Salmon & Sons.
EDIT: I find it 'amusing' that people bitc...er, complain about USPS service. If they ever came back on the dock and saw the amount of[stuff]moved every day-and night, when I ran-they'd be amazed.

Looks like a significant presence of Navy crewmates here. No wonder there’s a strong leaning toward the compactness of combo amps.

Ex-member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club here. Coupla cruises on 'bird farms', 1966,1967.

I was at NCS Japan in Yokosuka for four years (prior to my time on DD-788) and “got” to take a few Seventh Fleet T.A.D. cruises on the USS Midway and the USS Oklahoma City (crew nickname: Benjo Maru), elbowing into the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club just once. It was a good experience but I was happy to move on. For a year or so around Yokosuka I was in a country band called the Stateside Ramblers, hence my user name.

You learn something new every day. Thanks, Rambler!

Hey, @GonePlaid ! You have a bunch of great Rumbles. I’m still looking for a 15” combo, waiting on the Bugera, but...can’t stop thinking about that Rumble 200. I think if I needed extension to squeeze out the full power, I could use the Ampeg CL 2x10 cab (Especially as FL has deemed it NOT a “split combo”!!)
That would give me a 15 and 2x10 at 200 watts. The out jack on the Rumble 200 indicates 100W out, and that’s the rating of the lil Ampeg cab. Oh, 8ohm.
So, just asking, I guess , How do you like that Rumble 200?

'68, you are fine with an ext cab hooked up to a combo, no problem. I agree though, with Soul Reflection, you could mate similar 15" speakers to score the 200 watts and make an immediate impact on stage. The cab under my Terror Bass is the 1-15. It brings on some serious rumble!

Well it arrived today! It sounds really good and is very loud. The tweeter does not hiss much and the cab is very light. Compared to the Bugera it sounds more vintage. Probably due to the paper vs aluminum speaker. Absolutely no rattle unlike the rumble combos I've had. I'm very very happy!

Congrats to b90 on his NBD! Play that Markbass with a snarly attitude and enjoy it every day. :hyper:

New Ampegs are looking hot!

Yes, they do, C7. Now I need to figure out just how much plasma I have to donate to score the 115. Either that or thin the herd a bit. I'd love to play through one first though. Our only music store in town is an Ampeg dealer, but it's been so long since I've been there I'll have to Google the address!

What about the new Ampeg Rocket Bass amps? Lightweight and supposedly sound good. I might have to check these out.

I was looking at the Ampeg BA-210v2 210" 250W combo but I struggled with the less than symmetrical design (wedge cabinet).

I might might the road trip south to Sweetwater to check out the Ampeg RB-210 500W combo.

Yeah, the wedge shape, though a great idea, is quite cumbersome to carry for more than five feet. And at nearly fifty pounds (I know, I'm spoiled) it threatens to destroy your shins with each step. I've some owners slap some wheels underneath, but it looks weird.

PT, go ahead and pre-order one of the new combos, put it on the club account, and let's make it the official combo at the clubhouse. M will vouge for the purchase.
