The Combo Club

I'll be playing this evening through 2 R100's, daisy chained. Neither one mine. Almost the same.

Close enough. 12's have always been my favorites. I started out with them in 1968. A Kent 2x12's combo, tube style. I really punished the hell out of that one, before I went with a Traynor head, and a home made 2x12 cab. The cab had two Jensen 12" Concert Vibrato's. The Jensens filled the bill since JBL's, or Altec Lansings were out of my price range. Oh to be young, and stupid again, and not old, and stupid now.

A bunch of us in Rumble Club keep hoping for 2x12 in that series. Nope. My first real amp:

Kinda of ironic that Fender never went back to a 2x12 configuration that the Bassman's had. I should have kept the Ampeg set up I had with it's 2x12 set.

Just a guess-or 2-on my part: multiple 10's give a 'brighter' more modern sound than a 15, weighed less than 2x12's; speaker design/efficiency has improved; 2x12 is 'so yesterday'[not my opinion].

Hey, @GonePlaid ! You have a bunch of great Rumbles. I’m still looking for a 15” combo, waiting on the Bugera, but...can’t stop thinking about that Rumble 200. I think if I needed extension to squeeze out the full power, I could use the Ampeg CL 2x10 cab (Especially as FL has deemed it NOT a “split combo”!!)
That would give me a 15 and 2x10 at 200 watts. The out jack on the Rumble 200 indicates 100W out, and that’s the rating of the lil Ampeg cab. Oh, 8ohm.
So, just asking, I guess , How do you like that Rumble 200?

T'other day I was looking at 2x12 cabs and waddaya know, 'Peg's got one. 4 ohm. Crap.
I like the 200c just fine. I've been using the 40 or 100 lately 'cos that's all I need for the gigs we've been doing.

Well, you didn't ask me so I will keep this to myself...(What could be better than a C200 with a 2-10 Cab? ... A C200 with a 1-15 Cab).

With the 112 was sweet, I just rarely used it. My best bet is to get a second 100 and daisy chain-like I'll be doing(w/ someone else's) tonight. Two when needed, 1 and a backup otherwise.
I have daisy chained the 100/200c. Pretty dang nice.

My mind was righteously blown by the PJB BG-400 combo. For one who hauled a Peavey TNT combo, the Suitcase Compact looked to me as if a miracle of science. Is it real? Can it really do this? I had to know and the answers are yes, and yes.

Reasonably certain I've never played 12s.

My 18" speaker cab gives much "woof!" And the 410 cleans it up and brings a good focus. Together, they sound great to my ears (and look great too!)

What about the new Ampeg Rocket Bass amps? Lightweight and supposedly sound good. I might have to check these out.

I was looking at the Ampeg BA-210v2 210" 250W combo but I struggled with the less than symmetrical design (wedge cabinet).

I might might the road trip south to Sweetwater to check out the Ampeg RB-210 500W combo.

I've been trying to get a roadtrip to Sweetwater together for some time now. Things just keep coming up. Maybe mid April?
