I guess I do have to start allowing for you younger folks. By the time that show aired TVs were mostly transistorized and the magic bop-on-top was a lot less effective (and a lot less needed) than it was with the all-tube TVs of the late fifties-early sixties.

I have fun “gigging” out, but honestly my last one was our (Federal IHS housing) block party in Piñon (where I live and work) at the playground/basketball court that was shut down after 2and 1/2 songs due to scary, torrential, on top of us lightning and thunderstorms It doesn’t rain often here, but when it does...look out- flash floods, and all of that stuff.

I was deploying the Ampeg Micro CL 100w rig there. BL (the medical CMO of the clinic!) has the PA that he deploys so I usually run line out, or sometimes he mics the cab. I use as much of the amp as I can onstage, as a monitor, and fill so as to get good bass sound out. That’s where the 15 inch combo should really shine!

That was August 2019 before this pandemic...almost 2 years ago at this point. After that I was looking at hip replacement (Dec. 2019- best thing ever!!), then pandemic. Hmm it’s been awhile!! I’m looking forward to playing with others again, and think this Yamaha Ampeg RB115 should outshine the SLM Ampeg Micro CL that is my current go-to outdoor/larger venue rig.

A really nice picture of the band, Tele. The only thing I'd change is putting you out front so we could all see your bass a little better! I shouldn't talk, I like the back as well. That way you can overlook the entire situation and keep tabs on what's going on.

The RB-115 should be fine in your situation. You're right, that 15 will move a lot more air than the tens in your other amps. And in case you get a larger outdoor gig, you can a second 15 and double your power. Two 15s putting out that kind of power will make you heard, no worry there.

The(fuzzy)numbers @ upper right are a clue. KB 300=Keyboard amp, 3[separate]channels, 100W. Thus the horn-and hidden piezo.
I'm sure you could find a vintage P____-and a quartet of students to move it-somewhere. Great at home.
The power switch works but sometimes it sounds 'choked'. Whacking it near the handle usually wakes up whatever is not ready in the circuitry.

How strong are these students? Are we talking about the starting offensive line on the HS football team, or a group of pre-schoolers jumping around in the library as we're taking a test? It might matter.

It's at the same place(semi outdoor venue-hot and skeeter-y) I played the Sunday brunch gig but more of a dinner/rock crowd. Should be fun. Then I hibernate[gig-wise]'til June.

It's at the same place(semi outdoor venue-hot and skeeter-y) I played the Sunday brunch gig but more of a dinner/rock crowd. Should be fun. Then I hibernate[gig-wise]'til June.

That sounds like a match made in your heaven; hot and sultry with a dash of some good time rock and roll! Hopefully, a bigger crowd will show up and you can open up a fresh can of boogie. Please let us know how it goes, GP.

Good to know!- as far as that Epi EB-3 goes- here’s a gratuitous shot of me with it the flute player took that same gig.

It’s a fun bass to play- the Sidewinder should sound great through the RB115!!!
