The Combo Club

I just got finished up practicing with my country band. The MB 151P combo did a great job. I had it on the 2nd volume notch (about 10 oclock) and myself along with the rest of the band (1 acoustic guitar going through a small mackie portable PA plus vocals and the other electric guitar going through an orange crush 60 pro) could hear the amp easily. It was probably too loud actually. I'm loving it more and more everytime I use it.

@GonePlaid EBCF's and some extremely hot active pickups, tamed by an Aguilar OBP-3 pre. This is my ride or die bass. She doesn't get a ton of play time anymore but I've had her the longest and she'd be the last one to go if my situation ever went terribly south.

Ok mods it's time to step in. This was the one part of the TB where I could go to avoid gratuitous bass pics first @Morrighan and now this! :roflmao:

Here: This should put us back on track.

Sorry, I tried to keep it focused on the flats with a zoomed in pic. I'll edit that so it's little

my question is why are miking this? It's a Peavey, it's louder than an airport to begin with :D

If you spent one day with the Bass of Terror you throw away all your grindy pedals because they’d become obsolete. 250 Orangey watts running through your cabs with the gain run up and you’d become a devotee that moment and find excuses to buy orange swag!

Now they just need to make an Orange Terror Combo!

As GP said, POG. I may be getting a compressor in the future as I find my finger plucking pressure is not consistent....Occasional louder plucks than expected...
I’m really amazed at how much it helps. It doesn’t need to be a lot but it just sort of smooths everything out. It’s very much my always on pedal. I alter the settings depending on what I’m playing but it’s a very useful circuit. Once you play with it for a bit you realize how heavily compressed a lot bass recordings are.

Yep. Plenty for that gig.
And they were. Having the R100 and the 200c woulda been major overkill. Fun, but totally unnecessary. Played a shipsp?load of songs I've heard but never played b4 tonite. Luckily, I'm blessed with a good 'ear'.[hearing not great, but hearing patterns good]. Crowd seemed to enjoy us, 'skeeters' definitely did.

Couldn’t agree more, WBB. My compressor has become an always-on part of my sound. It also smooths out my playing but also fills in some low-end frequencies as I turn the pedal up. I don’t go much past 9:00-10:00, and many times keep it lower than that.

Cracker 7 sold me my TCE SpectraComp compressor and it’s been a welcome addition to my minimalist pedalboard.

Combo friends, I went to test a BIG Al today ... lucky me they had a combo I didn't know. Nice clean sound. Had to play on the street due to corona measures :D
The shop owner told me he paid big money back then :thumbsup:View attachment 4262479

Guessing > 60 kg? :nailbiting: Looks sweet!
