Combo friends, I went to test a BIG Al today ... lucky me they had a combo I didn't know. Nice clean sound. Had to play on the street due to corona measures

BB, the real questions are, 1) did you have fun on this little combo-playing excursion, and 2) did you end up buying said combo? I'm gonna predict you had fun messing around with the SWR but did not buy it. Still, a great way to spend an afternoon. And I'm assuming you did use the Big Al to play through the combo?
So many questions...
Guessing > 60 kg?
And isn't that equivalent to nearly 500,000 lbs here in the States? Tryin' to remember.

The Combo looked tiny - check the mug on the top. Maybe 50-60 lbs - not kg

That I'd use my combo as a recording tool is not something I factored at purchase. At purchase it's all about Is It Loud Enough, Is It Tone Enough

Quiet enough is not one of those things I though about. And reporting the DI on the Phil Jones combo is pristine. I could seriously do all my work at home with a Double Four and a DAW. It's a dead simple a DAW as I could find. Two channels and a connection to the computer. Not a lot of mixing going on here with iReal Pro in the right channel and my bass in the left channel.
Maybe a good idea to look into some sort of layer between the DAW and Win10 Camera.
So yeah I uploaded my Music Theory for the Bass Player cohort Unit 8 video — featuring the new bass — and not totally unhappy with the result. I find the preamp on the Phil Jones adds some, for lack of a better term, sparkle that's not part of the VT Bass.

Finally a combo owner (unit was ordered today). Wanted something to bring to small or medium shows. My other rig is an Ampeg SVP-PRO 6 And a 6x10.

Informative post, thanks. It’s kinda ironic though that lady who began this bass guitar adventure used Peavey amplification, but now has swung over to the tea and croissants crowd with her high brow PJB setup. Oh, how they fly off so much more sophisticated then when they started!

Uhhh - s.th.I need to share: my wife asked to get rid of my first amp set. I brought down the cab with "15 speaker + EV horn from the 1st to the ground floor - 38 kg !!! Drove it to Germany as backup, the sound with the Lab L2 is not so bad.

There's a young lady who fronts a band called Lipstick Jodi near here. She plays a St. Vincent guitar and has said that she totally loves it. It's cool looking too. I wonder what combo she plays through?
