The Combo Club

You’re a cool dude, edr, thanks much!

So I checked out the pedals and, yes, Korg is moving ahead with Nutube. An OD with tone controls and tubey vibe could make for a possible pedal addition for someone looking to warm up their tone a bit. I didn’t see any pricing, but would guess maybe between one and two Franklins.

Looks like there are also entries from Mission and Ibanez. Just searched Nutube pedal on Reverb and they seem to range from $180-$280

Good investigative reporting there, Protagonist. So it looks as if you are paying boutique prices for a so-called boutique pedal. Shouldn’t be much of a surprise, but if they sound good then beauty is in the eye of the pedal holder!

Hey RR! Yeah, what a guy. Mentions he’d opening up the candy store and never lets anyone through the door.

My brother from Des Moines came home and we spent the day. I’ll probably burn the midnight oil to post in the classifieds tonight. I’m looking to move some stock in order to clear some needed space in my too-small room.

Thanks for the reminder!
Just hoping to keep the combo goodness, "in the family," as it were.

Just wanted to wish our FL a very Happy Birthday. As they say in someone's old country:

Lang may yer lum reek.

If you don't know what that means, just google it...;)
We usedta have a restaurant chain in FL called LUM'S. They had hot dogs steamed in beer. Those kinda 'reeked'.
Seriously, a very happy burpday to F L.

Well thank you, my favorite west coast bass buddy! Ya know, I’m a fairly introverted leader of millions and don't like to call attention to myself or anything, but I greatly appreciate the sentiment and plan on smoking the nearest chimney I can get my hands on! Do you think a dry rub would be better or go either the secret sauce? :roflmao:

PS: SR, I’ll be a gettin’ to your exciting emails in a little bit over in Command Central. Thanks again for the birthday nod.

Thank you, kind sir. Continue keeping the pace in age so I have someone to chase after. I reached 61 today.

Gifts, you ask? A new wallet from Wifey and I bought myself a Scarlett 2i2 user interface to bulk up the recording studio.

But the FL big gift will be arriving on or after the 26th of June. Feel free to guess, but remember this is the Combo Club after all. Or you could skim over the last few pages of a particular thread dealing with new #%%^* coming out. My buddy, Tele, has kept quiet about it for at least a week now!

Finally, I sold the Foxy One today to a nice guy from DeKalb named Dan. He’s excited about it and it’ll get some use now. Everyone went away happy. That’s the law on my b’day! :hyper:

Just so they 'went away', right?
BTW, I may be getting sumpin' new that ain't a combo, but can(need) be plugged into a combo. Clue: it'll be from the subsidiary of a big name company that doesn't begin with "7".

I’m gonna take a wild one and say an Epi bass clarinet. I think you had been talking about getting back into big band tunes not that long ago and I think Epiphone made some killer low-end licorice sticks. How close am I?
