The Combo Club

I am chartering a new club to any and all. This if for the TBer who is not afraid to admit they rock a combo as their Main rig. I realize that there are separate threads for Fender and Walkabout out there.

Let us unite in the face of massive prejudice. let them respect our numbers if they cannot understand that our gear works for us.!!

The only requirement for this club is pride in combo ownership. No bashing brands.....if it works for you welcome to the club!! PICS OF COURSE.
Been rocking a combo as my main rig for about 5 years starting with a modified Carvin 515. I replaced the head with a Markbass Little Mark III and upgraded the 15 to an Eminence 3015HO. Then I set out to get or build the best sounding, loudest combo for it's size and weight 2 years ago. It's a custom Greenboy Fearless F112 with a shallow 2 space rack attached. I filled that with a Markbass 1,000 watt Ninja head. I haven't seen anything on the market that would be better. I'm not bashing, just my opinion. Oh--it's 20x16x16 and weighs 44 lbs. I guess I'll have to add pics later. I just tried and my pics folder is empty....all I could find were old pics from the builder with the then Markbass Tube 800 head.

This is the Kasino 252-in the middle-(2x15, 200w)previously mentioned. It's now my 'practice' amp 'cos I'm not about to move that thing ever again. Oh, bottom left is the Peavey bass amp I referred to b4 as my backup. The one on the right is the 35 y/o keyboard amp also previously mentioned. I had a rolled and pleated Kustom with 1-15(and original cover!)but I sold it and bought the R200c.View attachment 3209501
BTW, the only thing not in the pic is my R112. A, because it's not a combo; 2*, because I didn't have it when I took the pic.
*I stink at indexing

So, you're gonna practice there in front of the garage door?

Sorry, couldn't resist. :smug:
I want to be on GP's Christmas card list. I would be willing to bet it is he, Mrs Plaid, and the fam in front of that same garage door. That is where all the Plaid photos are taken.

Just kidding, still love the pics. Just can't not poke fun at the garage door poses.

. Using a flip phone which has a mediocre-at best-camera. I get better light outside and more room. Although I did shoot the pic of the KB-300 in a well lit hallway, there's not much width for 'group' shots. Family lives 140 miles away so any pix of them would be in front of their garage door.:smug:

Come on...give the guy a break. After all, he has to deal with an old flip phone without a flash. Correction: He doesn't have to deal with a flip phone, he has chosen to do so ;).

That said, I am several years younger than him. He is still gigging and I am not, so, he wins again. I am not being critical of you, just saying he is an asset to TB, regardless of his phone choices :):D.

No offense tooken. My daughter, with her handheld computer/smartphone is always ragging me about my phone. I use my phone as a(wait for it)phone! The camera function is handy but I have cameras. I admit to being 'old school'(notice the amps). OK, a dinosaur. But I don't need, or wanna pay for, a bunch of stuff I wouldn't use. There are other priorities: house payments, maybe a new van, insurance[home & auto(s)], etc. A Smartphone is Waaay down the list. Shoot, I joke about my "dumbphone", so no worries.:) BTW, on another note, yesterday was a very interesting day for my daughter and me. We started in Great Britain, moved on to Ireland, then to Canada, followed by Greece, Mexico, Norway, China, India, Germany, Italy, back through the U.S., on to Japan, Morocco, Belgium, France and back to Ireland before going home. OK, we were at the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. Great food and booze.:)

Just lettin' everyone know. I'm not bothered by comments about my phone, pics, choice of basses, or much else. Also, a big shout out to my fellow veterans. Time to buy a mattress-or car, or major appliance.(in sarcastic tone). Or take a bit of time to remember the sacrifices of our current and former military.

Sorry Soul Reflection, did not mean to offend you or tick you off. I have joked with Gone Plaid before about his "garage door" poses in the past at the Rumble Club. So I was just continuing that here.. I do value his input all over TB. My comment was meant as humor to him. I did not really take you into consideration.

Wait, @OldFunBass ! No offence or "tickness" taken. I have made fun of his flip phone as well and was doing it again this time. I thought GP was due a complement as well :).

Stage 800 continued:
I was suitably impressed with the efficiency of the Rumble Stage 800 at last night’s gig. Having spent time ‘polishing’ patches I was struck by the headroom and clarity it has now.

Couple that with the usual combo amp efficiency of setup, breakdown and transport and I’m deeming this amp a winner!

Power-wise it has enough output to compete easily with my much larger/heavier vintage Acoustic 126 and looks just vintage enough to fit the retro mood of The Rockits.

I could easily dial in anything I’ve ever asked from an amp in that environment plus Bluetooth makes it super easy to make quick adjustments with my cell phone, which also contained the set list.

I have actually changed my mind about the speaker sim function. I think Fender may have actually planned the cabinet portion of this combo to be flat or neutral sounding. Enough that the sims actually sound pleasing enough to be used. I had previously used powered p.a. speakers e.q.’d flat for my Sunday morning worship work and this sounds just as good or better, now that the patches are groomed.

Doesn’t hurt that it’s one-piece plug ‘n play, unlike my previous setup of multiple semi-heavy pieces. My rack containing the Eleven Rack etc. is about 45 lbs, the EV exl 112p weighs about 42 lbs so I’m accomplishing the same goals with a single 39 lb device and zero external connections. Works for me.

DANG, MechaGhosty! I was hoping you would find several faults, thus venting my g.a.s. Better yet, yeah, ... that's it, you should then be quick to sell, er . . uh . . . . GIVE it away just to get it out of your sight. And I, in all true altruistic pathos, would profligate myself to assist in removal of the said disgustingly devious device and hide it far away from your withering gaze. For, I seek only to serve.

But, congratulations, I guess, on mastering the magnificence.
