The Combo Club

The first photo of my Rumble 500 immediately after removing it from its shipping box this past Thursday morning. I've already played two gigs with it (one indoor, the other outdoor), and I'm beyond impressed by its sound! I still can't wrap my head around how so much volume can come from something so small and lightweight.View attachment 4411319

As they say (well, some do), better late to the party with spirits than showing up empty-handed. It's been quite a week so far, but I received this nice PM from G2010 requesting membership and then I realized it's been a while since I've been on, and I'm here to right that wrong.

Gideon, you, my Ioway compatriot, are our 259th member of the club, all because you have a brand new Rumble 500! Welcome to our humble club, and thanks for advocating for yourself. Also, if someone in the CC gave him the suggestion of dropping me a line, thanks for your help too. If anyone sees new members-to-be poking around these parts, send them my way via PM. Thank you in advance.

41 members to go before we hit that magical 3-0-0 mark. Keep up the great work! :hyper:

The colorful leaves-and lack thereof-are one thing I miss here in FL. What I don't miss is the kind of weather that follows. Ibanez AGB200 and R40 for the concert band rehearsal. We're doing a coupla numbers that tell me to take the TBird instead next Tuesday night. I can make it sound like an upright easier than making the Ibby sound more 'electric', which I "need" in some selections.

That is the only way to the launderette, the way back to the dryer is heavier due to the wet laundry.
@Morrighan I can only express my respect to you for your persistence in keeping your meager store running.

But to get your free access to Morrighan's Bass All-Nite Laundromat & Silent Movie Theater Annex, first take the free personality test to find out which character in The Band's The Last Waltz you are. Confidentiality is assured

Fortunately, she's also got the Silent Movie Theater Annex to supplement the Laundromat's income. But don't let her humble demeanor fool you! She's actually rakin' in the dough.

It's surprising how many pickled eggs, and Beer Nuts, are sold with the suds

It is truly amazing. So much tone, grit and volume, and one can move it.:smug:
Had an R500. My R200 now works great for me. I don't even use the extension cabinet.

Everyone's sitting back, waiting for FL to reappear...:nailbiting:.

Aww...you rang?

I know, a rare appearance this week, and although I missed the low-end camaraderie, it’s been a great five days in my day job. Today was my final “official” teacher evaluation, I believe it bring the 13th throughout my career.

My students were better brilliant as they argued various scientific points as we wrap up our physical science into. Gramps was quite proud of them. Then we went outside to perform our Coke and Mentos reaction experiment. It was explosive, to day the least.

Tomorrow is assessment day so my reward for all our fine learning will be tests to correct before planning next week’s lessons. This is why I’m not playing any bass! So please, if you’re playing for either a gig or for your own enjoyment, do it with gusto!

I’ll make sure to be on this weekend to see how everyone is and make sure that beautiful view Morrighan has while she’s playing in the morning is OSHA-approved...

Thanks for thinking about me, SR!

And, of course, I have NO gigs this WE.

First gig with new rubbed-in-the-dirt classic rock band this weekend. Two sets. Not bad for only playing together about 6 weeks. GK MB212-ii will get the call along with my favorite bass. (Carvin LB75)
