I especially like the way the SCR-DI hangs mostly off the pedal board. Is that a ceramic power tube base that’s propping it up?

Rambler, how ya doing? That ceramic power tube you spotted is actually a tiny mug with the Bears' logo on it. The blasted thing fits perfectly under my SCR-DI, which prompts me into believing I might've gone a tad small on my board choice! Plus, I've got a pedal or two sitting in the dugout waiting to get in the game. Did I mention I hate pedal boards just for that reason? That's why I bought the Stage 800...to get away from all that hassle! Yeah, how'd I do?

SR, I listened to this last night and now my YT page is full of Baby Driver videos! I must admit, it's the quintessential tone of the venerable P-bass. I'd like to dial that in some time. My guess is we're talking a rosewood fingerboard, treble dropped lower than a pair of old bobby socks, and some chicken grease coating the strings. Just a hunch. Good song though!

Things are good. I couldn’t make out what the printing is so I fell back on interpreting it according to something I did many years ago when I did a fair amount of high voltage work. I used the ceramic transmitter power tube bases as insulating spacers so that’s what leapt to mind. Good times. I don’t have a pedal board at all. I have an SCR-DI and a pedal tuner. Kinda don’t need a board. I have a wah-wah pedal for guitar but I haven’t played one of those since retirement 14 years ago. It’s nice and clean on its shelf!

How's the battery life on the SCR-DI?
/me wonders if there will be a successor to the SCR-DI with the Rocket combo's SGT? Or maybe see a replacement for the Scrambler pedal?

I found the battery life terrible (not unlike most pedals). An AC power supply is the best way to go unless you are in the boondocks. The Scrambler can be replaced anytime. If I want noise, I will play with broken speakers ...JMHO.

The battery life on this VT Bass Deluxe is okay-ish, but it's still a battery. Which is how I came to a pedalboard that runs everything from a rechargeable battery. One full charge is good for [guesstimate] 8 or 9 hours. That's one electrical connection for my combo, and that's it.

This SCR-DI is my second. The first one developed a feedback-like squeal after a few hours of playing. I got a warranty replacement and it did the same thing. I plugged it into a suitable wall wart (I have many) and played for two weeks, trouble-free. The problem turned out to be that the 9V battery is good for two normal sets but not a third set. The SCR-DI is the Eveready equivalent to Cookie Monster.

Hm, I run my amp from a battery. Not sure how long it will last, have not had to recharge it yet.

Ours tends to be more of the vinegar ‘n baking soda-type! When we’re feeling it though, we will use lemon juice on occasion!

I’ve never used batteries so I couldn’t tell ya. Interesting question about the future of their DI pedal though. I could see an update at some point with the Scrambler (which I don’t care for) being replaced by the SGT, or something similar (that I do like).
