Good gig. Set up in a garage way up in the hills of Jay, ME. The GK did a yeoman job carrying the bass with gain at about 2 o'clock and master about 9:30. Nudge the eq about until it sounded right (about 2 minutes) and good to go. That thing just cranks.

On a rather unrelated note, this arrived today. It's a rescue from a cold basement. Don't even know if it works yet. I'll plug it in tomorrow.

Here’s my two centavos on your Crate. First, have fun if you haven’t already messed with it yet. Leave it out in the air for a day or two to air out if it’s damp. Maybe pull the amp out if it’s really bad.

Or...just plug it in and slam a low E through it. Let us know what you find out.

As we sign off in lieu of another new week, I thought I'd take a moment to wish all of you a happy and prosperous end to September and a terrific beginning to October! I miss hanging with you Comboites and can't wait to catch some free time to kibitz over amps, basses, and anything else worthy of our time.

After not playing the entire week, I strapped on the Rogue and played through my Vox rig with my genuine Vox FX pedal, and recorded myself to hear how it sounded. Well, besides my mucky fingers and lousy digital tone, I'd say it sounded like...poo. Scrap that system. Don't buy the Vox unless it's just for fun and you plug directly into the guitar input. Absolutely under no condition should you try running it into your interface. You have been warned!

This week's setup is as I try to find some time to get my rhythm back before the Rev arrives on Friday with guitar in hand. I dedicate this rig to RodRy who wrote last week his D-4 is all he needs. I nearly cried when I read that because right at the same time I stubbed my toe on a table leg, but I digress. My Little Red Breadbox hasn't been played through for so long I forgot what it sounds like. So, Rod, this combo's for you! Of course, there's Ampeg on tap whenever I decide to put the foot on the switch, but I'm also gonna try recording straight through with no toys in affecting the tone. I believe it'll sound better than running the Superbeetle's line out to the Scarlett. Yuck!

I'll catch ya'll this week when I can. It hopes to be a little lighter compared to last week except for the fact I'm adding a second student in my room to the quarantine list tomorrow being her brother tested positive. These are the days I wish I had GP's garage door for extra protection, but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger...or buy Peavey.

See, this is what ya get when I've been away for so long! soul Reflection, I'll get ya my tune as soon as I figure out how to play the bass again, promise.

Good question. I already have a small 1X10 combo with 100 watts (Carvin ProBass 150) and the GK for big boy jobs. I don't really need the Crate but it's nice to have around. Maybe I'll clean it up and sell it...

I actually like the variety of sounds I can get from it. It actually "sounds" better than the Carvin...but the Carvin ain't going anywhere.

I have a TC Electronics BG250, and a GK MB 112II. The GK is just for practice and small jams. I have gigged the BG250 but I have a Greenboy cab and GK MB800 Fusion that I gig regularly, not much bigger but worth the trouble. .
The BG is at our band practice room so it is used with the whole band and the GK is in my livingroom where I use it daily. The extension cabs are a great feature with the GKs but again, the Fearless cab is too good.
Sorry if I disqualified myself right off. If not, I'll take pics of them and come back to the thread. I know, no pics means it doesn't exist.

I love that the pedal board looks bigger than the amp!

Let us know when you have a moment's peace how the Little Red Breadbox turns out for ya. I really like how mine gives me all sorts of great tones from each of my basses.

With that, and the snazzy ring G'Dog gifted you and everyone else with, you hold the distinction of being part of a really fun group who love their combos, along with basses, brats, beer, and Da Bears! Sorry, I had to sneak that in.

puff father, welcome to the CC! As was mentioned, hoist up a pic of either combo (or both if you're inclined to) and I'll be more than happy to grant you a number that continues this group's exciting journey to 300! We welcome one and all combo owners who are happy to call their amp one of the tools they use to make music.

As far as beauty sleep is concerned, at this point twenty years of Zzz isn't gonna change this mug, but those darn kiddies do have me up correcting two classes worth of science tests right now. Still, no reason not to usher in a new member like PanosI, or ask you to drop a pic off at the teller's window anytime soon. Thanks a bunch!

A moment's peace hasn't come easy for over five weeks now and this is a big assessment week. Next, we begin social studies in fifth and that may offer a slight respite so I can get some licks in. My buddy, Rev, is blowing into town on Friday and we have at least three times already reserved for fellowship and music. Sounds good except I forgot which end of the bass to hold when playing...
