the conklin GT-7 thread!!!

yeah...but until my other bass sells(which it won't sell anytime soon) i won't have the extra $300. and since i don't have a job...i will...never...get the money until my birthday(which is in sept.) or some other occasion.

i guess i'll just have to worry.

:hmm:.

i had i there before, but then i put it on ebay. i got bids...and the winning bidder has not come through with the money. he had zero feedback and hasn't e-mailed me once since the closing. so i'm in the process of turning him to ebay, and until i'm done, i can't relist it, or put it back on talkbass.

Now there is a conversation piece! I just hope that is an import knockoff, and not a real LP.

Sorry, it's a Gibson... apparently quite a few of these "Flilted" maple tops were made in the 80s, though i don't really get how they could pass through the factory. I can just guess how some sellers are gonna claim they'll have a special collectors value in a few decades! :p

you gotta admit, it does look interesting, although the flamed bit looks like ****.

So,

I've been a 6 player for several years. Yesterday I traded some stuff to lweaver, and one of the items I received was a GT-7.

I had a gig last night, and took it to rehearsal to see how it sounds.

Oh. My. God.

This bass is so amazing, that I played it for my entire gig. I can understand why people are obsessed with conklins. With the quality of this axe (it's korean?) I can't imagine how nice his customs are.

7 strings might still be too many for me, but I may have to get a 6 made.
