Conklin Sidewinder hollowbody 9-string. Al Caldwell signature model, and owned by himself. (Al now plays Benavente basses, I believe.)

Dragonwood body, hollow, approx. 100 mm thick.
Maple and Purpleheart 7-piece neck with rosewood fingerboard.
Bartolini pickups, RMC bridge with piezo pickups and HexaDrive preamp with GK connector.
Black finish with gold specs. Gold hardware.
Fantastic bass!
Purchased for parts off of eBay for $250. Pulled the frets, refilled the slots with mahogany veneer, epoxied the finger board, stripped the finish and red stain, padauk inlay, new pick ups, new bridge (pups and bridge were missing when I bought it). Total cost: $500
